iOS 8 Remote update not displaying album art of currently playing album
iPhone 5s, iOS 8, Remote 4.2.1
iPhone 5s, iOS 8, Remote 4.2.1
Brilliant !
I did scratched IPA both from Itunes & Iphone.
Restored it from Time Machine, dragged it into Itunes.
Checked the app in Itunes to be reinstalled on Iphone.
Synced ... And the art is back.
I also turned off the automatic App update on Iphone settings.
I have some difficulties to figure out how with Apple's technical power,
they don't test their releases deeper than that !...
.../...
They also changed some features in last Itunes release :
If you try to access to a radio information in a playlist, you cannot update the album name,
wich was useful to group several radios under a single album instead of having as many
albums as radios in your playlists showing up when you choose the Itunes presentation by albums.
The funny thing is that with the glitch on Remote last release,
instead of showing the two black notes on the Remote current playing screen,
they show the name of the album of the radio (for those I did update before last Itunes release of course.)
Well !
Thanks again,
Let's wait for Apple Remote bug correction.
Regards,
Jean.
P.S.:
There is a little glitch with running Remote 4.2 under IOS8 :
Once You have set up one Itunes Library on Iphone,
you cannot have access to the setting screen to set up another one,
(The screen shows up and disappears !)
unless you scratch the first one in the settings.
I did so to choose the library I use the most.
Jean.
Ah I'm glad it's not just me. I get the exact same issue.
Useless level of QA, Apple.
Same exact problem too. I even had it before "upgrading" to ios 8. It appears to be an app problem. I see the art fine when playing the sngs on the iPhone or iPad or playing directly in iTunes. Just not when I'm using the Remote app. Apple strikes again; I'd think they would have a test script to check these things out before releasing an update but I'd think wrong, it seems. And these problems are getting more common. They're getting lazy.
So....until Apple cleans up their mess (something that they are having to do more and more often it seems)...is there another available app that does all the same things and has the same features?
....sT
it's NOT an alternate app but I use an inelegant workaround. I just connect my iPad or iPhone to my PC via Bluetooth, open the Music app on the device and play my songs that way. It's really not the best method, but at least I see the album art that I either installed myself or paid for. As I said above, Apple is slipping these days very badly.
+1... Same issue with iPhone 5s and iPad Air.
I am having the same problem - iTunes on windows desktop - artwork doesn't display on iphone plus6 and iPad air but does on the old iPad 3?
Yet another +1. Hope this is resolved soon.
Just updated to iTunes 12 and sorry to say, still no album art on either the iPhone or iPad. Thanks for nothing again, Crapple.
Here's an odd aspect to all this. In the Remote app, I can navigate back to the Up Next song list, and see that there are no artwork thumbnails in that list either. But if I refresh the list, then the artwork oh-so-slowly does fill in. I thought, great, I have forced the app to retrieve those images and the Now Playing view will soon catch up. Nope. Regardless of whether the artwork is viewable in your playlist, or when you go to the screen for the album itself, Now Playing stubbornly refuses to show you the cover art.
PS This is true on my iPhone 6 and iPad Air so it's not just a hardware thing.
Does anybody know if Crapple is aware of and/or cares about this problem?
Same here with iTunes 12 for Windows...
Please let us know when an new Remote App will come out to address this issue. I couldn't file a bug report using that link because I don't have a developer ID
I installed iOS 8.1 today, and was hoping that this problem would be solved, but no luck. Still no artwork. Hoping for an update soon.
same here, I was also hoping, that ios8 or 8.1 are gonna solve this problem (as many others as well...), but no luck (with this problem either, as with the others...). Hoping for an update soon (...as with all my apple related problems...).
