iOS 8 Remote update not displaying album art of currently playing album
iPhone 5s, iOS 8, Remote 4.2.1
iPhone 5s, iOS 8, Remote 4.2.1
Same thing happens when connecting to iTunes for Windows.
Same thing here. Happens with an iPhone 5S and OS X Mavericks.
Same with me. Is anyone NOT getting this problem with no album art on Remote 4.2.1?
How do I just downgrade to ios 7? This is too aggravating.
Same problem for me! Happening on both an iPhone 5 and iPhone 6.
In order to downgrade the iOS you will need to perform a few steps.
1) If you don't already have the correct .ipsw file for the iOS 7 you will need to download it from a 3rd source. One of the best is www.iclairifed.com, simply locate the correct file for your iPhones cellular data network type (CDMA, GSM) and the correct model (iPhone 4, 4s, 5, etc...)
2) If you have to download the file it then needs to be put into the correct folder on your computer. Use the chart below to locate the correct location to copy the downloaded file into.
Windows XP
| iPhone | C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates |
| iPad | C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPad Software Updates |
| iPod touch | C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates |
| Note: To quickly access the Application Data folder, choose Start > Run. Type %appdata% and click OK. | |
Windows Vista, 7, and 8
| iPhone | C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates |
| iPad | C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPad Software Updates |
| iPod touch | C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates |
| Note: To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start, type %appdata% in the search bar, and press the Return key. Windows 8: Move the cursor to the upper right, click the magnifying glass, type %appdata%, and press the Return key. |
|
And for MAC
Mac OS X
| iPhone | ~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates |
| iPad | ~/Library/iTunes/iPad Software Updates |
| iPod touch | ~/Library/iTunes/iPod Software Updates |
| Note: The tilde "~" represents your Home directory. | |
3) In order to begin the restore you will need to go to the device summary page in iTunes and the
Windows: Hold the Shift key while clicking on Restore iPhone
MAC: Hold the Option key while clicking on Restore iPhone
This will bring up a selection box that will allow you to select the .ipsw file of your choice, select the one for the iOS 7. Then sit back, grab a bag of microwave popcorn, and wait for the restore to proceed.
Also don't forget to backup your data prior to beginning the restore process to prevent loss of data!!!
Hi !
Same glitch here !
I just filed a bug report,
I suggest we all do the same : the more, the more efficient it will be.
Jean.
Same here.
iPhone 5s and iPad Air don't show album art with remote installed before update to iOs 8. I've tried ipad 2, installing remote after iOS update and it's work.
Desinstalling/reinstalling app on 5S and Air don't resolve problem.
:-(

Same problem here.
Remote 4.2.1 with iOS 8 on iPhone 5S
Removed the latest version Remote 4.2.1
Installed the older version of Remote from my backup and it works again.
So it's nog a bug from ios 8! Only from the latest remote app version!
You don't need to downgrade to ios7
Just downgrade Remote 4.2.1 to one version before and it's working again.
Hi !
Great !
Can you tell us how to downgrade the app ?
Thanks,
Jean.
If you only update the app on the device and not in iTunes.
Delete remote from your device. And sync the old ipa back from iTunes.
If you update the app on the device and in iTunes.
Remove the app from your device and in iTunes.
Get the older ipa from your (time capsule) backup.
If you do not have the version you are looking for in your iTunes library, it may have been replaced by a newer version.
When iTunes updates apps, the .ipa file for the older app is sent to the trash (or recycle bin on a PC).
If you have not emptied the trash recently, it may still be there.
If you can locate the .ipa file for the app you want, you can delete the newer version from iTunes, then drag the older version to the "Apps" section in the sidebar in iTunes
If you still not have or found the older ipa, then ask your friends if they have the older ipa.
Thanks a lot for your detailed answer !
Ill have to change the automatic apps update setup on my Iphone till the bug is addressed by Apple.
Thanks again,
Ill let you know.
Jean.
