Full screen caller id in ios8?

Sounds like the syncing process is replacing the contact photos on the device with the ones from Outlook. Have you tried editing the Outlook contact?

Yes, I have checked this. The photo in Outlook is the very same photo that's on my iPhone. Nevertheless, after the sync, full screen is not available. As long as I don't sync with Outlook, everything is fine. Of course this negates the back up function of keeping the contact list up to date. Is there a better way to sync the Contacts on my iPhone such as with iCloud. Does syncing with iCloud wipe out the full screen photo ID like Outlook does?

Editing picture works for me 🙂 (iPhone 6 PLUS)

I'm using iphone6, iOS 8.3, with Google Contacts as the only contact directory (not iCloud)

Some photos remain full screen while some switch back to the small size, after a few minutes of doing the whole open/edit/save method.

I am facing is also similar, I went into my contacts and specifically selected some contacts whose photos were in my library (not camera roll)

After some time own their own these contacts photos which were earlier coming as full screen show up as thumbnails on their own. This happens randomly, I am not syncing or anything.

So now as a test I went and chose 3 contacts whose photos I took from my library, edited them and then saved the edited photo in my camera roll, then selected them as contact profile photo. Lets see if they remain full screen or also turn into thumbnails after some time on their own.

For many of my contracts I am using the app called sync from the app store and that sync profile photos from FB directly to my contacts... I am facing the same issue with this as well, when I sync all my contacts linked with FB are successfully updated they show as full screen but after sometime on their own they also turn into thumbnails...

Well this method also did not work me. After sometime on their own the full screen photo turned into Thumbnails ... this was after I kept these photos in camera roll and then selected them as calling photo...

Same thing is happening with SyncMe app they photos synced with this app appear full screen when someone calls but then after sometime these photos become thumbnails on their own...

So till now no permanent fix for this issue on 8.4, you need to keep editing and choosing photo when they change into thumbnails

i have tried all the ways mentioned in post but didnt work for me. However now i am getting the full screen caller id after assigning the phito to contact from photos app whhich was there in my camara roll.

The trick is you need to zoom the contac photo ( contacts>edit>edit>edit photo) till you don't see the black border all around. Some photos you can't zoom so much that it fills the whole iPhone screen, then you need to select a different photo. If tiny bit of black background is visible then the call ID picture will appear as a circle.
