FITBIT+HEALTH APP
When I go into my Health app in IOS8 It show anywhere that ist working with fitbit. Anyone know how to sync them, or if fitbit will not work with the built in health app
iPhone 5s, iOS 8, Health app
same here. I am guessing that Fitbit (and other health apps) will need to update their apps to ask Health for access.
There's an issue with HealthKit that should be resolved by the end of the month. So, October, maybe?
I hope this update soon 😟
HealthKit updates were in iOS 8.0.1 which was alive yesterday for an hour before it was killed because it was causing problems. I've read 8.0.2 will be out in a few days with HealthKit updates
I just got my phone yesterday and I have done the new 8.0.2 update but I see the same thing on my healthkit screen. So, my fitbit isn't talking to it yet either. Has anyone figured anything out yet or are we just holding on until someone comes up with a fix? 😕
I should probably know this but will the "sleep" data and steps (and weight) come over from FitBit to the healthkit screen? It all feels vaguely unclear and hard to use currently.
Now that 8.0.2 is out with HealthKit support, I believe we're now waiting on Apple to approve (and for developers to update) the updated apps that will integrate with Healthkit. Apple announced they pulled many updates when HealthKit was broken in the release of 8.0
So now we wait for fitbit to update.
Then, we'll figure out how this all works 🙂
*Update*
I just got an update to MyFitnessPal that includes HealthKit integration!
There's settings inside MyFitnessPal to send data to HealthKit and once I turned those on, Health App now shows MyFitnessPal in the data sources and graphs are starting to populate!
So, as I mentioned above, you'll have to watch for updates to your favorite apps to roll out.
Only a few things are syncing over from MFP to HealthKit. No exercise. Anyone know why?
Dang good question. I'm not getting much data (if any) from MyFitnessPal either. Not sure why. I thought maybe the daily diary had to be marked as "complete" but that didn't sync immediately either.
If you go into the Health app, tap Sources at the bottom of the page, then tap MFP, you should be able to see what information you've elected to share. Then, make sure that the information you want to see is set to appear on the Dashboard.
I selected Walking and Running but that is not showing as allowing MFP as a data source. Calories, yes. I've tried every option with a flame icon and nothing shows MFP as a data source. Shame. Want to "disconnect" and reconnect MFP to try that but there is no such option. Pretty frustrated.
I have done some poking around and I see lots of things coming thru from MFP to Health App - Sodium and Calcium etc are coming thru from the foods I log in MFP so somethings are coming thru
For walking, I'm letting the phone track that data and it is working fine. I'm still tracking my location thru the fitbit app, but the phone is tracking steps
MMy iPhone 5c doesn't track steps but my fitbit does. However, there appears not to be an update to connect to HealthKit for that. Fitbit does sync data to MFP but that data for any exercise is NOT connecting to HealthKit. Only certain items in the nutrition side are.
Presently Fitbit app is not updated for HealthKit, guess they would update in coming days. My MFP & iHealth smart scale & BP app got successfully integrated post app update.
