iPhone 5s with iOS 8 connection problems to Ford Sync system.

I just upgraded my iPhone 5s's operating system to the iOS 8 today. At the end of the workday, I got in my car an plugged my iPhone into my car's USB charger. I have a Ford Fusion with the Microsoft Sync system and once my phone is connected and in the vehicle, the car usually detects my phone through the USB and over bluetooth. The connection to the phone for call purposes works fine, but when I go to use the Sync connection with my phone over USD and Bluetooth, the system takes longer than normal to recognize my phone and then when it does, it displays what music is playing, but there is no sound. This problem did not begin until I downloaded the new iOS today. This morning on my drive to work with the previous iOS, there were no issues.

Please advise on how to correct this problem. I drive a lot for work and the Sync system is a huge help in passing the time. I can easily change my phone, not my car.

Thank you,

Ramos

hello all I also notice this issue I have a 2013 ford focus with Microsoft sync system I plug in the usb cable to the phone and usually forget about it. what made me notice this active Bluetooth connection and dead air meaning as that the music stops was that after a call this morning I was stopped at a parking lot and went to open my mail app and the music never came back and once I hit the top sleep/ power button the radio came back on. so I waited a moment and re did the steps I had don't. I pressed the home button and there went the Bluetooth connection back up on the sync system and then I did the slide to unlock and as long as I was on the device the Bluetooth keeps on being on as soon as you turn off /sleep the phone with the top button the sync system goes back to normal I had to un link my phone from the car because it became bothersome this morning the only down side from unlinking the car with Bluetooth is that in case of an accident the sync 911 assist wont work since there isn't any phone paired or other sync system hopefully there is a solution either on apple or Microsoft side please

My Bluetooth audio seemed to work but it will reply music from the beginning and not where I left.

However for usb connection audio, it looks like is a wide spread issue and Apple failed to test this properly.

My Mitsubishi outlander refuse to recognise my iphone as an iPod device and would not play any music

. On the other hand, it still charges my iphone.

I hope a patch will fix it quickly as I am not too happy with the new ios at the moment.

Same problem for me. I have an iPhone 5S that I upgraded to IOS8 yesterday. And the BT connection *****. I have a BT connection to my car and handfree audio work correct. But I am not able to play music, neither from the built in Music app with iTunes music or from a streaming service (WIMP, EU only).

Audiostreaming to Airplay devices works fine. Tried the AppleTV and a Marantz receiver with Airplay support. Problem is BT.

I have a 2013 Ford Edge with MyTouch SYNC and after installing iOS 8 my iPhone 5 would not connect. After trying to fix it by deleting the phone on the SYNC the existing BT device on the iPhone would not connect.

After multiple trys, I told the iPhone to "Forget" the "existing" SYNC device and repeated the pairing process with MyTouch SYNC. This time my iPhone 5 and MyTouch SYNC were able to "pair" and all is working correctly again.

Hope this helps!

I am also having the same issue. I upgraded my iPhone 5s to iOS 8 last night and this morning I had several features not work correctly with my car. I have a 2013 Ford Focus. My phone would connect via bluetooth, but no sound would come out for navigation or music. Once I eventually got the music to play, I could not change songs or pause/play via the steering wheel buttons or the touch screen. Even trying to change songs on my iPhone wouldn't work.

This is very frustrating as I consistently use Google navigation and my music while in the car. I do not like the Sync on board navigation. I bought the 64gb iPhone 5s so I could load all my music on it and I did not want to have a separate music player.

I tried deleting the connection and resyncing my bluetooth after restarting the car and the phone. After that it got worse and the Entertainment wouldn't even connect to my iPhone.
