iPhone 5s with iOS 8 connection problems to Ford Sync system.

I just upgraded my iPhone 5s's operating system to the iOS 8 today. At the end of the workday, I got in my car an plugged my iPhone into my car's USB charger. I have a Ford Fusion with the Microsoft Sync system and once my phone is connected and in the vehicle, the car usually detects my phone through the USB and over bluetooth. The connection to the phone for call purposes works fine, but when I go to use the Sync connection with my phone over USD and Bluetooth, the system takes longer than normal to recognize my phone and then when it does, it displays what music is playing, but there is no sound. This problem did not begin until I downloaded the new iOS today. This morning on my drive to work with the previous iOS, there were no issues.

Please advise on how to correct this problem. I drive a lot for work and the Sync system is a huge help in passing the time. I can easily change my phone, not my car.

Thank you,

Ramos

Thanks Johnathan. That was the first thing I tried, sorry if I forgot that in my post. I deleted my phone from the car and deleted the Sync pairing in my phone. I then restarted both and re-paired. Still no change. I am hoping that Ford comes out with an update to the Sync system at some point soon. I had this same issue when I first got my iPhone 5s and had not yet upgraded my Sync system.

I Spoke with someone at Ford Sync and I had to do a master reset on my sync and forget the device on my phone. It didn't work, then later on today I did a master reset again on my own reset my devise (holding power and home button) forgetting the device and repaired it. Finally it worked. I hope this will help and work for you guys as well. Ford said IOS 8 too new to do testing.

Have you checked in the Control Center to ensure that your iPhone is sending the audio to the correct connection?

A week or two ago my iPhone and Sync weren't on the same page - I was connected by Bluetooth and plugged into the USB to charge. My iPhone was playing a podcast. I had to change where it output the sound (where you would normally see 'Airplay' or similar) to ensure it was sending the audio to the same input my Sync was set to (USB or Bluetooth Stereo).

My 2014 Outlander Sport gets stuck on "confirming the media" when I plug into USB. It does recognize that the phone is connected to USB. I called AppleCare and they claim that I need a firmware update on my car's audio system. So I emailed MitsubishI. It will be interesting to see if they bounce the ball back to Apple (If Mitsubishi even responds).

I Havent tried the music but will do so when my wife brings the car home. However the phone doesnt fully sync to our Mazda 3. Ringing in the car answers the call and audio works fine. Calling out using the cars on board voice activated system works but making the call from the phone while in the phone does not get picked up by the cars audio. Lets hope I dont find other issues.

I have in iphone 5, 2014 Nissan Versa, similar issue.

Since the update, the car stereo recognises that the phone is connected, can see & navigate the files, but cannot play the music. It did once or twice but nothing for the past few days.

Couple of notes:

- skipping to next track won't work, it resets back to first track

- if an album has 10 tracks, the menu shows 20, so it tries to play track 11 of 20, not 1 of 10.
