iPhone 5s with iOS 8 connection problems to Ford Sync system.

I had the same issue with my 5s and 2012 Ford Mustang with SYNC. tbe fix was a master reset of Sync and removal of sync within iPhone. Apple must have enabled new features in Bluetooth and the Ford caches the previous settings. The master reset forces it to re learn all the capabilities. Works fine now.

Just purchased a 2014 F150 FX2 that has the Sync system. I am able to pair and connect my phone. When I try to call someone it will find the number, dial, sometimes it will ring but it immediately hangs up.

I have a 5s through Sprint running 8.0.2

Monday, IOS 8.1!! Lets see if that fixes our problem.

So when did Apple say they were coming out with IOS 8.1 on Monday? I hope they fix this issue with my 6 Plus.

I've been running iOS 8.1 in BETA for a few weeks now and it fixed the issue for me. Apple said iOS8.1 comes out Monday at the new iPad show. 10/20/14 iOS 8.1 comes out along with Apple Pay.

I certainly hope ios 8.1 is the solution.

None of the suggestions in this thread have worked for me - repair, master reset, reboots, etc.

Monday will tell.

I Think this time I might wait for 24 hours and see how the dust settles and be sure all is okay with this edition before it creates more problems. Ao please post your findings here so I can confidently upgrade.! :-)

I have done nothing but stress over the last couple of weeks since i got my iPhone 6 plus

It works fine music wise with my ford sync but if i made a call it rings twice and says call end and cuts oft system but the call carries on

I have done resets and everything I could think of but I think I may have solved our issue until apple sort it

I did this and so far so good it hasn't cut off mid call and works fine

1. Delete iPhone from ford sync

2. Forget sync via settings on iphone

3. Turn off engine so iPhone / sync does not try to pair again

4. Reset network settings

Now everyone will have tried the above and got no where - I changed the name of my iPhone via settings / general next

6. Re pair device via the sync software

voila it seems to work no problem

Two cars, 6 devices on iOS 8. All six devices worked fine on sync on iOS 7.

Vehicle: 2014 Lincoln MKz

iPad2/16gig, iPad2/64gig, iPhone4S/64gig, and iPhone5/64gig all work as expected.

Vehicle: 2012 Ford Explorer

need to test the iPad3/64gig.

the iPhone5S/64gig works (mostly) as expected on Bluetooth. When using the USB sync says that the music files are corrupt or unavailable. The only change on the bluetooth is that if the phine is charging via USB and playing via Bluetooth, both the Bluetooth and USB are disconnected when the USB is unplugged.

Haven't tried any of the devices in "the other" cars as I haven't felt the need to be that thorough

I had hopes that ios 8.1 was the answer.

Alas, it was not. The problem remains.

I miss the good old days of ios 7 - a version that worked just fine.

iOS 8.1 fixed the issue for me in both of my cars. Apple Pay is awesome too! Not to mention Continuation 🙂

Not spiking the football just yet, but I did re-pair my phone to Sync after updating to 8.1. I placed a call by dialing from my phone (didn't have Sync do anything) and Sync picked up the call and kept on the call until I finished. So that works.

The real test will be if I'll be able to receive calls. Fingers crossed.

Been using it all day today with Sync in my '14 F150....works great. Thank you Jeebus....I mean Apple.

Still no luck with 2013 Mazda 3. Beyond a joke Apple, great testing!

Same with ours, just have to live with it and wait for the Samsung Note 4
