IOS 8 lost camera roll

Removal of a separate camera roll is the kind of ill-thought out design nightmare that would have gotten entire departments fired in Jobs's day. Did nobody at Apple object to this boneheaded idea?

I don't want photos that I've deliberately left on my camera roll for any number of reasons mixed in with the thousands of other photos from my computer and the Cloud. It's a choice for me to keep them on my camera separately until I'm ready to sync, it's not accidental. That is, I keep photos -- camera roll, cloud, computer -- where they are for a reason and in their respective places for a reason. Why is Apple micromanaging where we keep our photos and thus making it more difficult for us to access photos when and where we want? I shouldn't have to browse through every photo I have everywhere to find a camera roll photo that is over 30 days old. Very poor user experience.

Completely agree with BrandoPolo. It is a nightmare to manage the pictures now. Like you I used to know which pictures I have in the iPad and in two different iPhones. Now everything is mixed. I really hate it. I have sent feedback to Apple so please anyone who thinks the same please please leave them feedback.

I you wanna criticize people and tell them to leave feedback....then why are you providing a link to the Mac Os feedback page instead of the iPhone page or iOS8 page??

I just made the album and its extremly disorginized, its nothing like the origonal camera roll

Camera roll is back with iOS 8.1

II'm having the same problem!

alsowhen I've taken a photo it shows in the bottom left box as it did before. But when I tap on to view it comes up with a completely different photo taken weeks ago!

why can't i instantly access the photo I've just taken to view?,

instead I have to look through all my photos/ recently added/ albums to find it!

very disappointed withe the new photos app

Exactly. To carry this to the next question, where does that photo in the corner of the camera go? The thumbnail is there but in no Camera folder. I even looked in Photos but it seems to be nowhere but in the camera app. Argh!

I sent feedback, too. In an earlier post a commenter says the Photo Roll returns in 8.1. Maybe everyone's effort was worth it but I'll have to see it to believe it.
