IOS 8 lost camera roll

I just did the IOS8 update on my Iphone 5s and now I have no album for camera roll and instead it has 'Recently Added' which only has 25 photos instead of my 1000+ photos I had originally before the update. I still have all my photos on the collections bit but not in an album like before the update.

Help please?

Yes, it has changed. The Camera Roll is gone. You can make your albums as before.

It wasn't the easiest solution but at the bottom of the iPhone iOS8 Photos screen there are two tabs: Photos and Albums. In Albums are Recently Added, Favorites, Videos and Recently Deleted, plus any albums you create. All the photos in these albums are also in Photos. What completely threw me off was that the photos in Recently Added go into Photos in order of the date created.

Four of my Recently Added photos were actually scans from old photos that I had mailed to myself from my Mac. These four photos went into Photos way up in the list, going back months! With over 1400 pictures in Photos, it was very difficult to find the four scans. But they were there.

Once I realized that Photos doesn't operate like the old Camera Roll in iOS7, I was fine. Just a pain to have to go find the old scans.

I can't understand why the took the Camera Roll out of iOS8, but today I finally found an app that solves my problem and give me the Classic Camera roll back. It was an app called Photosane (not the most describing name but it made me more sane anyway when I had a look at it 🙂 )

Scrolling thru the images is so fast that I first thought I made something wrong. Looking forward to see more functions in it.

Hope my finding can help someone else.

Also, anybody who is telling you "all you have to do is these simple 37 steps" is lying to you. I've had multiple occasions where I could see the photo on my Camera (Where the photo roll used to be.) but tapping it took me to some photo from July! Then it appeared under no photo heading (folder, whatever) available to me! Go back to the camera and there it is, sitting there and mocking me. This is ridiculously MicroSoft-like!
