Where did photostream and Cameraroll go in iOS 8?

I already had all of my photos in albums but decided to do as one reviewer suggested, I selected all of my pictures from that dreaded collection feature and moved them all into a new album which I titled "Camera Roll". Now I can either scroll through all of my photos (which I enjoy doing) or go to a particular album. Either way works for me.

Yeah I am not in as bad shape as others but 430 photos and dont particularly want to select, select, select 430 times to add them to an album. Maybe 8.1 🙂

Basically I cannot delete a picture I snapped with my camera off the iphone without it also being deleted off of photostream / icloud? How can I just delete the local picture off of the device and have it stay in photostream for access from ipad or apple TV, etc

FLip side what if I want to keep the picture local on the iphone but don't want it on photostream. How do you delete. Do I have to use the web interface now?

This is getting ridiculous. Turning off photostream until I understand this better

In collections, on the right side is a "Select" button which allows you to select every photo in that collection so it wasn't bad moving nearly 1,000 photos Into the new album "Camera Roll". Serves the purpose until Apple fixes the problem, hopefully.

Did you try taking a screen shot of the photo you want to post then post the screensht to FaceBook ?

For posting pictures to Facebook or twitter, I would think that you could use the iOS integration and just share directly from moments.

Alternatively, you could do the screen shotting as suggested, but that will destroy the original aspect ratio unless the aspect ratio already matched the iPhones. It might also mess up the resolution. Facebook already does some compression, but compression on top of changing the aspect ratio and resolution might be undesirable.

Finally, the least practical way to do it that would also probably work is to mail yourself the picture, then delete it from moments, then get the mail, then save the picture. I am not 100% sure that would work, but it probably would.

I found that texting the photo to myself and then saving the photo works. The photo will then appear in the "recently added" folder, making it visible to Facebook. It's a clunky workaround, but it'll hafta do for now.

Makes you wonder if the engineers at Apple stay awake at night wondering how they can take what was once a friendly device and complicate the heck out of it. The solution to this mess is of course to create your own Camera Roll album and bring in all your pictures. You will now using twice as much space but OH WELL, that's what Apple calls progress.

I Absolutely HATE! That camera roll is gone! Me and my girlfriend cant stand it and want to go back to ios7 because of this. Such a pain the butt! Please apple.... Make an update and put it back to normal!

In IOS 7 when you made an album from camera roll the photos were merely pointers back to the original and didn't double the space used.That's why when you deleted the original it was deleted from the album. Hopefully the same is true for IOS 8.

Yeah, all of my irreplaceable photos on camera roll are gone. I don't even show photo stream & I'm extremely unhappy with Apple! I won't update my iPad, for these will disappear to. My recent added went from 1469 pix down to 90, so where are they?? Very unhappy with Apple! I want my photos back!!!!

So much for "progress". I'm beginning to not like Apple! I'm really bent that over 1400 of my photos are gone!

Did you upgrade or restore? If restore you should have a backup . Really should have a backup either way either in iTunes or iCloud. Photos are in the "photo" button bottom left in the app.

You may be able to find your earlier photos under collections or moments. If you restored your phone as a new device or changed phone, you should be restoring from a backup. Your might find some of your pics in photo stream if they haven't roled off yet. If you shared them as a shared photo stream, you may also be able to see them via a browser on your computer.
