Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I just updated to ios 8 and now can't add events to my calender on my phone. If i create an event on my mac, it will sync over icloud and appear on my phone. The red plus sign is not grayed out or anything like nor is there any indication of an error, the event just does not show up. I've turned turning off icloud and that did nothing. I've tried adding events to different calenders also to no avail.

Go to the bottom of the calendar screen. Tap "Calendars". Make sure you have the appropriate calendars selected.

I have a whole new problem which even The Apple Senior Service Technician can't solve.
After i updated and installed iOS 9.0.1, my calendar days failed to open when in month view. In the end the senior technician helped me troubleshot and we realised it will only work when i double tap - which is unusual. According to the technician he has never encountered or heard of any user with this problem.
Now today, new problem arose. I could not add event / note to past dates (i.e. dates before i started using this phone). Is this considered normal? I find it absurd.
Double-tapping worked! THANK YOU! It is the only way I can delete an event and change it to another date. Weird. Very very weird.
Before, I was in what seemed to be 'read only' mode.
I'm on iOS9.1 and still having the problem which confused me for a while! Thanks Alloy1 that solved the problem!
