No service on iPad 2 GSM after upgrade to iOS 8

Similar experience here. I am not losing connection anymore (with all of iCloud turned off at least), but the iPad is now significantly slower, Safari in particular.

How were you able to go back? I thought Apple doesn't support IOS 7 anymore.

I rolled back a few weeks ago. You would have to see if apple is still signing ios7.1.2. just googled it, your too late.

It has been weeks for me. No response from Apple.

I have had multiple users with this problem. The only fix is to backup and restore. Be sure to turn off cellular data during backup.

After doing the update to 8.1 my connection doesn't drop off The Ipad is definitely slower and a bit clunky. It seems to be hit or miss with the folks on this topic.

THis might help:

Settings>icloud>iclouddrive> set to do not use cellular data

then

Settings>general>software update (just for a recheck)

then restart.

if iTunes and wifi is available along with home-sharing and auto-sync back to mac or pc; turn off wifi before restart.

or do not restart using the power button instead use the power cable to restart after shutdown.

Ios 8.1.1 still have a problem, apple composite av cable can only used on avplayer application, when ios 7.1.2 all application which is a video or movie player can used that cable to connect to tv.
