iOS 8 camera roll is missing!!!

The missing camera roll is a nightmare!!!

Worst iOS experience ever. Honestly spoken I am thinking of replacing my Apple stuff by other devices. Again the "greatest" Update ever was promised, but I do not see anything great at all. I realy feel cheated now!

And the missing camera roll really annoys me. The collection is a very bad experience because most of the places are simply wrong and now there is no way to go chronological through all of my photos. Of course I can create an album with all of my photos, but how does it help? Should I add every single new photo I take?

I hope a lot of users are of that opinion so please reply and Apple will here this. Looking forward to the first update!

I Agree with John Dorsey. Photostream has so polluted my iPhone photos environment that I had to disable photostream completely. I really only used it to move my iPhone photos elsewhere anyway, not to pull other photostream photos in. So now I'll use a third party app to manually copy my photos from the iPhone to my computer.

Even with photostream off it's awkward browsing photos. I have to do it from 'moments'. I can imagine someone like Taylor Swift or Brad Pitt having 'moments'. As for me, I just want to look at my photos in reverse chronological order, period. Thanks a lot Apple.

Well, not exactly. Everything in the Photos section is on your device. And again, at the lowest level of the hierarchy - Moments, the photos are grouped at the date level. Hopefully, we will get clarification as to when photos in the Recently Added get moved to the Photos albums. But, really, not seeing how it is confusing to know that if they no longer appear in Recently Added, then they will be in Photos.....

If I hear any more about the timing of when these photos will move out of Recently Added, I will post back to this thread.

Cheers,

I don't want photos to move to a cluttered awkward browsing location on my phone unless I put them there; and I want to know, without any gymnastics, whether a given photo is on my phone or in the cloud so that I can 1) be sure to be able to view and edit it at all times and 2) know I can delete it to clear up space. (Preferably without at the same time purging it from existence everywhere else.)

Don't even get me started on the elimination of the "imported" album, which means when I'm on a trip, all my phone and imported camera shots will be mixed together in a photo stew, with no way to tell what photo originated where or whether Apple has elected to remove them to the cloud in some kind of unwelcome photo rapture!

Terrible decision by Apple to ditch iPhoto support with iOS 8. I used to use iPhoto all the time to edit my pictures and do simple stuff that was SO easy before. Now I have lost all that ability and have to do edits on my daughter's iPad 2 which still had iOS 7 (thank goodness).

I HATE this move by Apple, bring back iPhoto for those of us that loved using it!!

I agree

a) Collections was always stupid, the locations are no where near accurate, which is understandable, but why do it then ????

b) I don't so much mind Recently Added, but I absolutely NEED one place where I can JUST see all my pixs chronologically. It's like they sorted off the newer pixs to Recently, and forgot to just make another folder for the rest called "Older"

PLEASE FIX THIS ? HOW HARD CAN IT BE TO LET ME SEE ALL MY PHOTOS IN ONE PLACE, LIKE I USED TO ?

This was not thought out

Photos is no way better, it groups things in inscrutables groups, like "Memphis" which has pictures from Memphis, and pictures from NY, and pictures from MA - because somehow it thinks they are together.

This was never helpful, but could be ignored.

I just want a flat matrix of my pictures, the simplest prevention available. Are they determined to go down the Microsoft path of - "well, we have to do something to look like we're busy" road ??????

"Our feet are moving, we must be doing something"

Not sure I understand why you have to edit on your Daughter's iPad? The Photos app on iOS 8 has been enhanced to include the simple editing that iPhoto used to provide:

Click on Edit

At the bottom of the screen you will see edit options for:

Cropping the photo

Applying automatic effects to render a different photo "look"

Adjustments for Light, Color, and B&W effects

In the top right, you see the Auto Enhance wand

Every adjustment that was on iPhoto is still there....just in the same place as you photos so you don't have to go to a separate app to edit.
