iPhone 5s stuck in recovery mode

I don't want to lose the 64GB of data and restore. I tried Recboot on a Mac and also Tiny Umbrella...but i have the feeling they are not updated for 8.0.2 or I am not using the correct settings. Can you detail me the procedure with TU on a Mac ? Thanks

If one of the programs will not kick it out of Recovery mode the iPod is erased. Then all you can do is restore from backup and redownload iTunes purchases if they are on on your computer.

I've had the same problem trying to update my iPhone 5C to iOS 8.1 on anvia iTunes on my iMac.

I've tried a few of the suggestions, but nothing worked. My iPhone was stuck on 'Connect to iTunes, I couldn't do anything

Then someone suggested plugging the USB into another port. I did that and it's managed to at least restore my iPhone to factory settings.

Good luck, I'm not going to bother with the update for now.

2. I got stuck in the itunes logo.

3. I read this post and all the answers.

4. I tried some of them

5. None of them work.

6. I yelled.

7. I gave up and clicked in "recovery to factory settings".

8. But actually it was an update not a recovery.

9. Now Im calm.

I had the same issue for two weeks, bought a 6 while I waited for a miracle to fix my 5 stuck on the boot loop like an update to tiny umbrella or reboot but nothing...guess what though?? Last Saturday I checked the net as I regularly do for solutions and discovered iTunes had an update. I downloaded thinking there's a tiny chance and to my surprise it gave me a choice to restore OR UPDATE!!! I chose UPDATE and it started doing something with the phone and crashed halfway saying it couldn't go through. I cleared some space and restarted my computer and tried again. The iPhone 5 came back to life with all my 64 gigs of data...I hope this works for you, give it a try if you havent tried the update yet. First thing I did after everything was restored was backup everything.

Miracle: when the red Itunes logo appears, if prompted to download Iphone software, do so. Then, using another Iphone's Personal Hotspot as your internet connection, click restore. It has come back from the dead after all hope had been lost. Not sure how this will last but give it a try. I was compelled to write this as so many of you are responsible for helping out!

I am not sure if you already solved this problem, nevertheless I would like to share the solution I discovered after working on a colleague's phone for almost 10 hours. Download and install Wondershare Dr.Fone for iOS. Launch the software and it will prompt you to connect your iPhone. Automatically it will detect if your phone is in the normal mode or not. The trial version is enough to revert the phone to the normal mode.

See the reply I made to MonkeyDr. I hope it will you get out of the recovery mode. The software is meant to recover some lost files, but I only used it to revert back from recovery mode to the normal mode.

😉 I just had one very stressfull hour, I had the same problems....and for everyone who want to fix it with one click...just download this free app that i just found, you can exit from the recovery mode through your macbook via USB..... Ternorshare: Reiboot for mac, just google that and it's free...you can return to the last OS you had with the same config....then you can try update it again, it worked for me.
Steve Jobs would be ashamed!!! Mac does not have the answer, I'm in Switzerland but i bought my i-pad in Mexico....I can not believe the only answer from mac support is return to the store and "have some luck".....

I have tried several suggestions from this thread and currently, this is the only one that works on my iPhone 6 with iOS 10. I tried to use iTunes to restore the iPhone but it refuses to do that.

1. Get Out of Recovery Mode Manually

Step 1. Press and hold the "Home" and "Power" button at the same time until the device shuts off completely.

Step 2. Release the "Power" button but keep holding the "Home" button for about 10 seconds.

Step 3. Release the "Home" and then press the "Power" button to restart your iOS device.

Your device should be back to normal now. You can then set up the device.

2. Get Out of Recovery Mode in iTunes

Step 1. Connect your iPhone to the computer via lightning cable.

Step 2. Then open iTunes. After iTunes detects your iPhone, you'll see the message saying that your iPhone is in recovery mode and you need to restore it. Click "OK" to restore it.

Step 3. iTunes will then begin to restore your device to factory state. You can get back the data if you have a backup.

Its telling me it will revert to factory settings. Looks like I'll have to take steps to recover contacts & such as well.

I couldn't help myself, so after the restoration I gave the iOS 8.1 update one more go.

It worked!! I'm now running iOS 8.1.

It shouldn't be this hard Apple!!!!!
