How do you change KM to Miles in health section on IOS 8
I know it's not a huge issue but is there a way to change from KM to Miles on the "Walking + Running distance" section of the new Health section?
Thanks
iPhone 5s, iOS 7

Simple...
Open Health on the iPhone and follow these steps:
Change the last option in the list—UNIT—from km to mi
Here's the relevant UK Legislation that now permits Imperial Units to be shown alongside Meteric

I have exactly the opposite problem, my phone has location USA, since I use many features from there for work, but I am located abroad, and I would like to see it im km, but there is only miles in the health, all the rest is in km, but health is in miles!!!
A simple switch in a preference pane would do!
I honestly think this is just a mistake by Apple. Maps (apples not googles) uses miles for distance and I've changed no settings on my phone for it to do that. So I don't think its a legal thing and hopefully they fix it in an upcoming release.
😝
This is a bug.

Submit your feedback directly to Apple using the appropriate link on the Feedback page:
You can set it to miles. In the Health app dashboard, tap on the walking+running graph, then at the bottom of the settings just change Unit to "mi".
I'm the UK and I use km for this. My problems is the Watch Activity app uses miles and I can't change it to km!
Hi Roger,
On Apple Watch do the following to select Miles/Km:
Start a workout
Copied from: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204523
This bit isn't in the above article, but the unit you choose for this new activity will now be the default on the watch and the Activity app on the iPhone will now show past and future distances in whatever unit you have chosen on the watch, until you change it back.
Cheers,
Richard

Yep this ***** :-( Since when has the UK used km?
Cycling events (200km), public running events (lots of annual 10K runs in many English cities). In fact most sporting events apart from rugby, cricket and soccer use metric measurements.

Yes, in the Health app, select: Health Data > Fitness > Walking + Running Distance > Unit. You have the choice of either km or mi. Pick the latter if you're training for the few running events left in the UK that use miles ;-)
Thank you so much for that. I have spent days searching for this answer about how to see my distance in miles in the activity app on my iPhone
Even a trip to the Apple Store did not get me the answer. I was seeing miles on the watch and kilometres on the iPhone which was very confusing
searching on on this site did not bring me here either. A Google search brought me to this place
Thanks
Change KM to Miles in the Health App. Open the Dashboard, click the second graph down (Walking and Running Distance) and at the bottom of the list is the option to change the units to miles.
Even stranger ! the activity app on my apple watch shows the distance in miles !! but its still km on the iphone.
Changing the setting in the health app solved the problem !!
And yes we still buy milk by the pint not the litre.
Never seen a KPH speed limit sign - or beer in public houses sold as 0.568261 litres
