Hi everyone,

Problem solved ))) I had my Siri go down where it (Siri) would not listen to me kept cutting me off every time I spoke and it did this for about three days, I had no idea what was causing this and it was so frustrating. Thought it might of been my speakers faulty and also thought it may have been a dodgy phone only a month old brand-new 7 Plus ....I went to Apple Syore in Sydney they told me to do the same thing reinstall Siri by turning on and off and change network settings etc .. still nothing changed Siri still didn't work (( well finally found the problem .....I went into languages and change to say French or German male or female changed ...and .......presto .....Siri worked !!!! but in German and French lol ... so I went back and changed my language to English not Australian and guess what presto it worked again !!! my Siri is working now perfectly but this time in English male and not an Australian male as I originally had ....so obviously the server for the Aussie voice went down (( or he was having a cigarette break lol ....and no one told Apple (( soooooo ...if you're having problems change your language to English Canadian Australian or US ..... problem solved )))cheers Andrew

same for me with iphone5 - siri wont hear me. It works fine with earphones and of course worked fine before updating to ios8. Went to apple store(in london - westfield) - i was first with something like that.

So they wiped all out, even ios, and installed new, still same. in the end suggested to change front panel - but couldnt guarantee that it will help. my warranty was out, so i told no i dont want to do it now.

Waiting for fix!!!

And yes, i did supply feedback to apple now!

I've tried everyone's suggestions in this thread. I also just upgrade to 8.1.2. No joy at all.

Yes, I have submitted this feedback to Apple (their dropdown list doesn't yet include 8.1.2 though)

Frankly this is just one annoyance too many. I can't believe I've been sitting here contemplating dropping the cash on an upgraded device - the QA is just going down and down, truly I can't justify the spend on what's fast becoming a "so-so" device. One of these days, I'll bite the Android bullet.........

Same issue here. iPhone 6+ with newest update - 8.1.2 (12B440) - and the issue is still not resolved.

Siri works over Bluetooth and with the earbuds attached but can't appear to hear me.

On the other hand the internal microphone works in other applications - e.g. Google Chrome speech recognition.

Tried resetting all settings, resetting network settings, connecting and disconnecting bluetooth...

Still not luck and getting extremely frustrated with Apple.

How do I post a bug to them?

Alright - I've dealt with Apple support on this issue - THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND THEY BELIEVE IT TO BE A HARDWARE ERROR.- SO THERE ARE NO PLANS TO FIX IT IN ANY UPCOMING PATCH AS YET!

After trying a number of troubleshooting measures - even a complete reformat to factory settings - the issue was still present.

I sent Apple my iPhone 6+ to investigate the problem (I chose not to go through my provider, Vodafone - I figured that would only take longer and they would be a worst case scenario if needed!) - they had my phone 2 days before sending me a brand new (unlocked) phone with the following statement;

"Thank you for choosing AppleCare Service. To ensure the higest level of quality and reliability, all work has been performed in an Apple approved screening facility. After thorough diagnostic testing, it has been determined that a replacement iPhone (enclosed) is necessary."

So - there you have it folks. I got a new phone and it's working perfectly so far. I suggest you contact Apple directly to sort this out.

I hope ye still have your previous phones - you'll need it for about a week! 🙂

Well that's great for you. If you look 4 or 5 posts up you'll see that didn't do it for me, and I'm sure countless others.

My visit to the Apple Store today was rather brief - the Genius I spoke with seemed to know about the problem, and told me if I was feeling so inclined, I could reset everything and "Start from new" on my phone, otherwise I can come back for a real appointment next week and ..... well, she didn't say they could actually DO anything then, to be honest.

Still deciding if I really want to start from scratch.

While one can understand why Apple tech support always recommends this as a first step -- in order to isolate the problem -- in this case, it is unlikely that it will solve the problem (it didn't work for me), and it will take considerable time.

Siri has been working since I upgraded to 8.1.2, and I’m hoping that this will continue.
