iPad 2 very slow since ios8

Yep, I'm getting the same issue, screen very laggy, and apps open very slowly. Just about to downgrade to IOS7, since you have finite amount of time to do this before Apple stop verifying them , Can't live with IOS8 on iPad 2.

I did the update and found it running slow so using the info here I downgraded to 7.1.2. I did backup before but still managed to loose all the stuff I had put on it, photos, apps etc. My own fault I expect!

Then did the update to 8 via iTunes on computer on my now "bare" iPad again, and found it now goes very well indeed.

Mine is only the 16G model so shall be wary of putting back too much rubbish.

The IPAD 2 is almost unusable! I hate it. I also find it reboots very often and apps crash more often (ie eMail!).

I am very disappointed in apple this time around.

I just may try the dark side this time around.

My ipad 2 is unbearably slow. afraid of the downgrade now, too. What's alarming is i'm reading you can't but you way out with an upgrade to a new ipad, even the 3s & airs are ceawling. i got work to do apple. It's not a toy

Since I updated my iPad 3 to iOS8 this morning it has become an unusable self-rebooting brick.

Not what I expected from Apple.

Any hint to solve it?

Had the same problems with my iPad 2. Have just done a backup and full restore, which took ages but seems to have fixed the issue - iPad back to normal speed.

Apparently it has to do with lots of apps trying to be updated at the same time after jumping to iOS8. It took ages and many crashes and reboots, but now that all apps are updated, the iPad seems to behave normally again.

Just in case, I also disabled iCloud Drive

Made the mistake did update to iOS 8 on wife and my ipad2 both so slow doggy hangs what a mess why did Apple even allow then to use ios8

not intalling on my iPad mini looks like Apple might be loosing some bis...

Just did a backup and restore and all is well again - my old iPad is back to normal. Trying it on my other devices too now!

I Have not had my iPad2 crash since installing IOS8. However. Facebook is very slow to run. Additionally, text disappears under the keyboard in forum posts and Facebook comments. Will look at going beach to 8.

After the ios8 update, my ipad 2 has become difficult to read. Screen very dark, even at the brightest setting. Running very slow-what a mess!

Same problem with horribly slow behavior, but don't want the hassle of a full restore. Hoping Apple gets this fixed. Pronto!
