Family Sharing error in iPhone app store

I set my wife and I up on Family Sharing as a test before setting it up for my whole family. I invited her iCloud account, she accepted and verified it, and when she is in the app store on her iPhone if she chooses an app I have already purchased she gets the message that it was already purchased and asks if she wants to download it. Great. If she tries to buy a new app, it downloads. Great. On MY phone, if I go in the app store and go to Updates - Purchased, I see me and I see her, and I can tap her and see the new stuff she downloaded.

However ... on HER phone, if I go int the app store and go to Update - Purchased there is a message on the screen saynig that Family Sharing is set up on her device using a different iCloud account. There is a link for More Info. If I touch that it takes me to the Family Sharing setup screen in her iCloud section of settings. And there I can see that her iCloud account is the exact same one she is invited with. It makes no sense at all. All the email addresses match up. It's driving me nuts.

Anyone else seen this happen?

I was able to fix the issue. We have shared one Apple ID for the longest time. When we finally created individual accounts, something was left on the phones (in my opinion) triggering the message to be prompted in the App Store (which probably puzzled the Apple Engineers since they do not have direct access to our phones) When I restored the phones before, I restored it from backup. What I did this time was go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings. This of course erased everything on the phones. Then, I set them up as new Phones (not from backup), established the individual Apple IDs/iClouds on each phone (since our accounts were already set up with Family Sharing, Family Sharing was automatically set up). I then checked the App Store and was able to see both of our purchases with no message. All other Family Sharing features worked fine, too. Problem with this solution was that I had to manually download/sync all Apps, music, movies, ringtones, etc. and manually redo all settings on both phones. If you decide to do this, I recommend syncing everything to iTunes, just in case.

Note: Still waiting on Apple if there is another solution. Last I heard from them is when they wanted a screenshot of the message since they have not seen it.

I used to work for Apple as a Family Room Specialist and something like this the solution would be to remove the person and re-add them. Well apparently you can only start or join a Family Share twice a year. So now she's locked out. We didn't get any warning until after it happen. We're really upset because this was the feature we were most excited about with iOS 8.

YES, I am having the same issue. I can open and view all shared content in the iTunes App, using Family Sharing, but when I go to Purchases in the App Store, it says the following:

"This iTunes account is set up to use Family Sharing with a different iCloud account than" _______________ Learn More

It makes no sense, because like I said before, I can share and view all family members iTunes App content. The problem is in the App Store and only on my iPhone. If I log in to the App Store on my Mac, it tells me:

"You are part of a Family. You can manage Family Sharing in the Settings App on the supported device or computer."

HELP!

I also have this issue on my wife's phone and the above procedures did not work for me. I talked to AppleCare Tier I & II. Now her account is in troubleshooting mode and the issue has been forwarded to Apple engineers. For troubleshooting, I used her Apple ID on my iPad and it worked just fine (maybe a phone issue?). Also, "Restore" on the phone did not work. I'll post as I get updates from Apple.

Update...I now notice:

Going to: App Store>Updates>Purchases:

1) The message “This iTunes account is set up to use family sharing with a different iCloud account other than <her iCloud ID>...” Is now showing up on my iPhone and can no longer see any of my purchases or hers.

2) The same message above is now showing on my iPad mini (it didn’t before). But, I can still see both hers and my purchases on my iPad mini.

3) The message "This iTunes account is set up to use family sharing with a different iCloud account other than <my iCloud ID>…” still showing on her iPhone and she still can’t see her or my purchases.

iTunes Family Sharing still works fine.

Note: If I Go to Settings>iTunes & App Store then log out of my Apple ID, then go to App Store>Updates>Purchases and log into my Apple ID from there, My purchases show up (not hers). I then toggle between Updates and Purchases and the message pops up and unable to see any purchases, again. Same thing happens when I do it to her phone except her purchases show up (not mine).

I emailed this update to Apple...waiting for a reply.

Another update:

Apple Contacted me via email that the engineers fixed my problem. Then they read my email of the above issue (message was now appearing on my iphone and my iPad). they wanted me to call them as soon as possible because they wanted to put the accounts back into troubleshooting mode. I called, left a message and email...now waiting for a return call. In the meantime, this is what I did:

HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT DOING THIS if you are not sure if your accounts might get locked out of Family Sharing for 364 days. I was daring and did it because I knew they just reset my accounts.

1)I stopped and restarted Family Sharing with me again as the Organizer.

2) Was able to add my wife back in again.

3) Message no longer appears on my iPad mini.

4) Message still appears on my wife's iPhone and on my iPhone.

...some progress. Still waiting for a call back.

I have been getting this error too on my phone. We tried something and signed me out of icloud and now all past purchases/downloads show up, anytime I sign back into icloud I get the message under the app store that it is set up under a different icloud account, like you mentioned. We have no clue how to fix this, but wanted to let you know that you aren't the only one.
