cannot search messages after upgrading to iOS8!!!

I tried to change the language several times, but it's not working. Can someone send me the link to the "original" post that describes the detailed instructions on how to change the language to fix this issue? I read several posts that described various different methods which appeared to be modifications of the original post. Also, is this a temporary fix or are most of you having permanent success? In the meantime, I am waiting for a call back from Apple's Tech support. I'll update everyone as to their response.

No problem. It's been very difficult for me to work without the search feature operating properly as well. My office sends all phone messages to us via text, therefore, being able to search a few days, weeks or months back to find a client's phone number or message has made my life much easier. Recently, I've also noticed that if I search for a specific email while in one of several of my email accounts, the search displays emails from other accounts also. This did not happen in the past. It's a pain, because now I have to scan through numerous irrelevant emails from the other accounts just to get to the one I need.

Even when I selected "current mailbox" it searched all mailboxes. Now, when I pull down it doesn't give me that option anymore. Just the search box appear. Strange. I have a new phone now. Is there an option to turn it back on?

Funnily enough that feedback page has a bug itself! The submit button doesn't appear in Chrome on OSX, I had to use safari to report the bug iOS bug and then submit a separate bug report for the buggy bug report page *rolleyes*

I hope a lot they will. It seems for me that searching crashes after every next synchronization vs iTunes. W\o synchronization iPhone does search in the last messages (not all but only among those last that where sent/received after last synchronization vs i Tunes). Does anybody find out the same?

I Tried all the solutions posted. The change language one works for about 24 hrs for me. Each time I do it, I am excited, then mid-afternoon the next day, I am bs m to having the problem again. This is really affecting my business performance because I keep in touch with clients by searching for their texts.

I am still facing same search issue in IOS 8.2. I followed this thread and tried changing languages and keyboard trick. But still same issue. its not at all searchabe.

I am having this EXACT same issue since the upgrade. Only able to search messages I have sent/received since the upgrade. Spotlight search through messages don't work either.

Well, that's weird; It works for me in Spotlight and in the Search Bar on the Messages App.

Are your messages iMessages or SMS or both, mine are all SMS ?

Yes. The same count for me on iP4s. Not able to search the older messages (neither in the Messages app nor the Spotlight). No luck with restart.

i tried changing the language but it didn't work for me. Is there any other way to solve the problem?
