Nope. I am on 8.0.1 on my iPad Air since yesterday. Already had two blue screen restart.
I thought I was the only one and freaked out. Hope they fix this soon 😢
I personally feel that you should roll-back to iOS 7.1.2 till the time all the issues related to the new iOS are fixed. I did the same with my iPad Air — Rolled-back to iOS 7.1.2 But please back up the required data before rolling-back, since once the old iOS is installed, you will lose all the data on your device.
Have filed a bug report...
Was hoping 8.0.1 will solve it... will have to wait and see...
Don't want to downgrade to iOS 7 again... as I am already using and enjoying the new features.... hopefully a fix comes soon!
Has anyone from Apple said/done anything about this? So annoying!
Agree. For me too, I upgraded the latest version 8:0:1 and already had two random bluescreen reboot!
Please do something Apple.
I have reported the issue to Apple, with a link to this discussion forum. It looks to be a major problem which affects many people, so why it is not in the news like bendgate? It should be called bootgate! I am a relatively new Apple customer (3 yrs). Did you older customers have such a problem in the Steve Jobs era?
This is still happening on my iPad Air after upgrading to iOS 8.0.2
Temporary Solution
I too had this issue in my iPad air after the iOS 8 update. Tried restoring, setup as new etc, nothing worked.
I even dropped my iPad in an apple service centre, for 1-2 days. Even though they tried to replicate the bluescreen through many tests, it didn't happen at least once, so they gave it back to me saying, it's good. So I thought of trying to find the cause.
It's mosly happening when I use apps made by apple, like pages, numbers,Safari etc. So I thought I should test these apps. Thank God, finally, I was able to find a temporary solution.
Just turn off the iCloud sync for all the apps..
I had bluescreen restarts once in every 10-20 minutes in my iPad air when browsing in Safari. But after turning off the safari iCloud sync from,
settings->iCloud, my iPad is working fine..
It's been some hours since I'm browsing.
So I guess, this will work with other apps too, like pages:
settings->pages->use iCloud (turn off)
Hope this works for some of you..
It's not a cool thing to turn off iCloud sync, but for the time being, until apple release an update to fix this, it's a way to save ourself from losing data and frustration.
I may have good news for you. But I need little help from you folks as I have escalated this issue to the apple engineering team to US and they need a little bit more info. Can u answer these two questions so they can reproduce this bug?
1) How did you upgrade to iOS 8? Over the air or through iTunes by connecting it with mac?
2) how many of you are running public beta of Yosemite and have synced iPad with iTunes after update?
They want to isolate the problem. Let me know this answers in reply to this and I'll get back to u once I get more update from them in next 24 hours.
