Can't copy + paste correctly on iOS 8

I downloaded iOS 8 to my iPhone 4s yesterday, and I've now realised that I can't copy and paste texts correctly. For example; when I write a text in Notes, marks it all and presses copy and then goes to Instagram and pastes it - an old text that I used yesterday shows up instead of the newly copied one. And when I copy the same text in Notes and pastes it into a iMessage another old text (a link in this case) from yesterday pastes.

The strangest part is that sometimes, if I mark word by word (til the entire text is marked) and then presses copy and pastes it into Instagram - it works. But I did this just now, and deleted the text and tried to paste it into Instagram again - then the old text from yesterday showed again, even though I, one minute earlier, was able to paste in the new, copied text!

Does anyone know how to solve this, or should I go back to iOS 7? Because I've heard that iOS 8 aren't really optimized for 4s' ...

I have the same issue. Since beta 5, so I was hoping there would be a fix in the GM. I mean, how can you miss this?

Btw, where available, cut instead of copy does work.

I Have the same problem with ios 8 and safari. It selects the wrong area when i try to copy and paste. We need help with this problem asap.

Hi emeliejr,

If you are having issues with your iPhone's copy and paste functionality, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.

First, quit all running applications and test again -

iOS: Force an app to close

Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -

Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -

iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device

Brett L,

the copy and paste problem is not resolved by doing anything of your suggestions. This is a problem deeper than a reset of the phone. Tou better pass this to your supervisor so they bring it up to others and find a fix.

copy and paste on safari and other programs does not work.

Sorry. On my iPad 2 the CUT & PASTE doesn't work, either. I get the same thing as in the main question... an old clipboard item.

I also can no longer upload an image to my Facebook account. It just sits there trying for a minute or two then fails... every time!

Uploading bug should be resolved in 8.0.1 (available now)

Haven't updated yet myself. Need 1.1GB free for a 64MB update. :/

No good. They have retracted the 8.0.1 update as it only made things even worse! Don't they test anything?

i have a terrible work-around. You have to select snd copy over and over again untilyoueventually replace what is being pasted. It has tobe at least 5 times.

Curiously cut-and paste works perfectly within the Dolphin web browser -a sharp contrast with Safari and chrome. It's a better browser anyway, it doesn't keep reloading pages for no good reason.
