Can't copy + paste correctly on iOS 8

I downloaded iOS 8 to my iPhone 4s yesterday, and I've now realised that I can't copy and paste texts correctly. For example; when I write a text in Notes, marks it all and presses copy and then goes to Instagram and pastes it - an old text that I used yesterday shows up instead of the newly copied one. And when I copy the same text in Notes and pastes it into a iMessage another old text (a link in this case) from yesterday pastes.

The strangest part is that sometimes, if I mark word by word (til the entire text is marked) and then presses copy and pastes it into Instagram - it works. But I did this just now, and deleted the text and tried to paste it into Instagram again - then the old text from yesterday showed again, even though I, one minute earlier, was able to paste in the new, copied text!

Does anyone know how to solve this, or should I go back to iOS 7? Because I've heard that iOS 8 aren't really optimized for 4s' ...

I have the same problem in my iPad Air and iPhone4s. The Select, Copy and Paste function in Safari is really buggy. I'm unable to select a word. The popup menu won't show, and most times the cursor is acting really weird in a html form, and it's position is not where it ought to be. Sometimes when I'm trying to drag and select several paragraphs then the whole page is scrolling instead of just the cursor/selection, which makes it impossible to select a text that I want to select. I have also noticed that Safari is freezing and crashing more often on my iPad Air since iOS 8. And, sometimes when I open a new browser window and then return to the previous tab, then it is all gray.

Never had this problem before. It started with iOS 8. Oh, and I have the latest version (8.0.2) installed.

Safari has become next unusable, and I'm currently looking at Chrome and will start to use it instead.

I Just got a new iPhone 5c and up to date software - bug is persistant and annoying... No restart, reset or closing of apps has fixed the problem.... It ocassionally comes back but only for one copy/paste and that is rare enough that I can't tell what caused it to work. I have noticed that it works in some web forms, passwords and username fields seem to be a hurdle... Comments spaces like this it sometimes comes back to work only in the comment box though. There must be a way to get Steve back because he would not have any of this...wishes...

I Have the same issue. Since installing 8, now 8.1, copy paste is useless even withn Safari or chrome... I can't copy/paste between tabs even! Also, Safari or chrome run very jerky, freezeing, resetting, very slow loading, it is maddening. It has rendered my browsing experience almost unusable. I have been luring a few threads here and it seems lots of folks are having the same issue regardless of mobile platform. I wish I could go back to IOS 6 or 7, as IOS 8 makes me want a Samsung tablet!

I See that there has been no response from apple about this issue. It makes me glad that I waited on purchasing an iPhone 6+... I may end up switching to Samsung if ths doesn't get fixed. My iPad is now slow, kludgy and unstable, yet it worked perfectly fine before upgrading.

I am strangely delighted to hear that you are having these problems. It means it isn't just me. I can't even post to Facebook reliably. I can't select the text field. I switched from Safari to Mercury, which made no difference.

At least once a day I find myself having to catch myself before throwing the iPad across the room. My iPad experience has been completely ruined. I had been planning to get myself an iPhone, but this experience, along with other Apple Fails (such as ongoing iTunes Match failures) have me thinking that Apple is on its way out, and I should consider going Android instead. I no longer have any faith in Apple.

Certainly 8.1.1 has cleared up a lot of the problems on my iPad 2, but not everything. I still get a lot of web pages that fail and reload, and the tagging function in Facebook still fails every time, so there is incompatibility there. Some videos will play sound but not show the pictures right away, and the auto-correct is still not working sometimes, although better than it was. The other thing that still isn't working right is that when you select a text field, it has a tendency to disappear behind the keyboard so you can't see what you are typing.

Overall, I would say that 8.1.1 has fixed 95% of the issues created by 8.0, but there is still plenty or room for more improvement.

Yes, those sound familiar.

AS to FB I long ago gave up on the FB app and use the web version in the Dolphin browser. Dolphin was a better browser choice anyway, as it did not re-load pages when you flipped out and back. Though it is less reliable than it was under IOS7.

my wifi is faster under 8.1.1, but there are still sensitivity problems. It still doesn't display my neighbour's ssid whereas under 7 I could see about a dozen networks
