IiPhone 5 iOS 8..0.2, hooked up Bluetooth speakers for first time since moving to iOS 8 and they constantly cut out. Very disappointing as they've never done that.
Seemed that the IOS 8.0/8.02 had a lot of problems with the bluetooth, I hope that Apple solve this problems quickly because it's a major issue.
SuwaneeAppleseed, Did you get this fixed (with or without "engineering")?
I have a few questions for APPLE:
1) Hey Mr. APPLE corporation, how could a feature of iphone that worked perfectly for years to make phone communication in passenger vehicles hands free, now no longer hands free with one updated software operating system = IOS 8?
2) Mr. APPLE corporation, what is the acceptable error rate for your product features prior to consumer launch? What is the acceptable error rate for your software updates prior to consumer rollout?
3) Do you, Mr. APPLE corporation provide refunds for inoperable features advertised for your products ?
4) Do you, Mr. APPLE corporation provide compensation for features of your products that become inoperable due to your errors on update rollouts?
5) Do you, Mr. APPLE corporation plan the same quality review prior to future product launches and updates? (I need to plan ahead for expected downtime should I purchase your products in the future)
I "Reset All Settings" on my iPhone 6 and deleted my device from my vehicle Bluetooth. I reconnected my iPhone to my Bluetooth in my Toyota and it now works as well as it did before upgrading to a new iPhone. I had to go and reset my preference settings in my phone but it was worth the trouble.
SSee this forum thread below - reset and all works again.......
This worked for me tonight to fix the issue.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings and then went back and did Reset Network Settings. All of my network and Bluetooth settings were reset and I walked to the truck, reconnected to SYNC with Bluetooth and just made several phone calls and all worked perfect. I power cycled the phone 2 times and also reset the phone name in ITunes and it still seems to be working fine. The normal deleting Bluetooth devices did not work. It took this master reset to remove whatever settings were carried over in the phone from upgrade from 5 to 6 for me.
hope it helps
I fully agree with your sentiments!
I have a 2012 Mercedes E250 saloon and a 2013 Mercedes E250 Coupe and all my iPhones (4S, 5 & 5S) have synced flawlessly via Bluetooth to enable me to make and answer phone calls hands free. Successive IOS upgrades did not diminish this capability until IOS 8 where none of my iPhones will work with the car's bluetooth system.
It shows my phone paired with the car's bluetooth system but incoming calls don't come through the car's speaker system. Outgoing calls cut out after two rings and 'Invalid telephone number' message appears on my cars's APS COMAND screen.
I can understand a new feature not working properly when first introduced, but for the life of me, cannot understand how Apple, with their IOS 8 update, have managed to screw up a feature that has worked flawlessly for years!
Apple, you really need to sort this issue pretty quickly. Your inaction is putting a lot of your customer's safety at risk by the fact that they, like myself, no longer have a 'hands free' capability to answer and make phone calls in their cars!
same problem here
iphone 5
ios 8.0.2
car porsche cayenne
btooth conncet but not let me call..
what a shame
I reset network settings today morning, and iPhone begins making and receiving call via cab bluetooth audio as well.
Here is the solution which worked for me:
1 - unpair
2 - rename iPhone (Settings>General>About>Name)
3 - reset network settings (Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings)

QUOTE every single words.
i give them 1 week.. in mean while i risk phoning without handfree and after one week i finally change my iphone.
Update:
iPhone 5S/Lexus ES350
This is the procedure that worked for me after reading all the suggestions on this forum:
1-Unpair phone from car (Delete it from the car's memory)
2-Reset All Settings (Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings)
3-Re-Pair phone
The above did the trick!! I can now make and receive phone calls like before.
Having to reset all settings is a pain since you will have to do your fingerprint, passcode, etc. again.
Just doing "Reset Network Settings" didn't work for me.
Hope this helps!! Good luck everyone!!
Regarding my bluetooth speakers. I deleted bluetooth devices ("forgot" them), reset network settings, reset all setting, rebooted phone. This appears to have worked for me speakers but now I can't send or receive imessages from anyone. Apple really needs to do a better job and hold off on the ios releases until they work. Iphone 5.
I have the same Bluetooth problem with an Audi Q3 since upgrading to iOS 8.0.2. Resetting the Network settings on my iPhone 5 did NOT help, neither did a complete reset of the iPhone. I also have problems displaying correct Podcast titles in my car, but that is an older issue I had already with iOS7 (came with the separate podcast-App). I hope Apple will fix this problem soon! 😕
On my iPhone 5, iOS 7 worked like a charm in my Subaru Outback with Blue Connect. Now with iOS 8.0.2 (as with 8.0), there are problems. If I initiate a call from my phone's address book, and choose Bluetooth as the audio source, it flips back to iPhone as the audio source. I've tried repeatedly and every time I set it to Bluetooth audio source, it flips back to the iPhone audio. So I can't hear the person on the other end of the line, since nothing's coming through my car speakers. If I initiate a call through the Blue Connect "call" button and recite the number or give it a name in the address book, it seems to work - so far. I'm not holding my breath, though.
Here's what I tried, NONE of which fixed the audio source problem: Un-paired phone; reset network settings; reset all settings; backed up phone and erased all content, then set up as new; re-paired phone. I tried to get the phone to "forget this device" or whatever it's called, but it got mired down and after over 6+ hours of it "thinking" about forgetting, I gave up.
This is not a "take it to the car dealership" problem!
Where is the fix, Apple?????
Moisse,
The ongoing issue is that once the phone syncs, gets turned off or rebooted the problem returns, requiring you to repeat the process all over again.
It isn't fixed until doing a reset and putting all the settings back, repairing, etc, permanently fixes the issue.
