Was trying to (read all my responses) but now I don't care.

Maybe you want to check this and the next answer on the other similar thread on this forum. People had the issue after upgrading, downgraded and stopped having it. Besides, the proof it's not the typical rotten-home-button-hardware problem is that not on any app (just on home screen), the home button never double clicks.

It may be a bug.

Showing up here and offering suggestions is great. Trying to tell us that we don't have a problem and that it's not a bug... just rude.

Try doing a Twitter search. I searched on #ios8 and "home button". Lots and lots of people are having this issue.

Same problem on my iphone 4s. Quite annoying; I can deal with the increased lag but not this. Clearly a software bug because it was fine on IOS 7.

Hopefully Apple can fix in the next update and also optimise IOS 8 for those with older devices as they did with IOS 7.x.

I Found "reset all settings" worked to an extent, but it's still an intermittent problem.

Same issue, been having it since the beta. I need to file a bug report.

iiPhone 4s I have the seem issue and it's about to drag me crazy the phone has become useless and because of this issue the battery is draining like a tornado category 5 that only last a few minutes

Thank you for your video link. I have tried the solution in the video, but it does not help. It is getting more and more annoying. It clearly is a software issue/bug. Hoping Apple will release an update soon. Kind regards, Vladimir
