IIf I open a website the username and password don't autofill despite still saved

iOS 8 changed the way autofill works. Some sites will fill automatically. but others require that you tap in the text entry to bring up the keyboard. At the top of the keyboard there will be an option to fill the name and password. Tap on that. Then tap on Sign in or whatever button the site has for login.
Thank you! That was driving me nuts and this was the issue. So weird. Siri was also set to off after the update and I was wondering why she stopped working all of a sudden. You think it'd remember your settings like os x does.
NO the solution is NOT simple!!!!! I WISH I NEVER UPDATED NOR GOT NEW IPHONES, IPAD, AND MAC. NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. And YES, ALL my setting are correct, double and triple checked!!!!
The NEW piece of JUNK iPhone 6 as well as my 4s (updated) will not fill in the login & password with the key chain. Before 8.0 no problem, I have several FB accounts type in the first letter of the login and BAM autofill, same with my several Yahoo and Google account.
NOW, **** NO, you have to type in the whole login name and password. I have hundreds of passwords and logins for accounts.
WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON WITH YOUR KEY CHAIN, PEOPLE?????????????? 😠😠😠
Have you checked whether all your devices are set for keychain sharing in iCloud?
Reset Safari, Restart Mac, Finder, Preferences Pane, Cloud ➔ Check for Keychain sharing

Been there done that. For eample I have four FB accounts. Prior to 8.0. I was able to type one letter in the login and keychain filled it all in, NOW if I want to change accounts I have to type it all in. If you hit autofill it fills in with the last account. Idiot programers to change what was working fine!
Thankyou. This has been driving me nuts for months but I never googled it. I had my phone replaced and had autofill until I updated and restored it from back up and lost it again. This was a few weeks ago and I just googled it. THANK YOU!
There is no "autofill" option on my keyboard (iPhone). I tap the empty log in boxes and nothing happens. Have never been able to get Keychain to work on an IOS device. It is turned on, but does nothing.
Yeah the whole keychain system is terrible. Works on my macbook but never on my phone and I've done EVERYTHING on the apple guide to get it working. Private off/ autofill on ect. Total garbage, and the kicker is on my laptop it selects some totally random non-memorable alphanumeric passsword so if you need to log in you need a password reset.
Don't know if this is an IOS9 fail but its very frustrating to pay $1200 for something that just docent work with your other $2000 something.
But by far the most impressive feature is turning on keychain it asks to verify you by logging into iCloud and then texting you a 6 digit code that when you enter it says was entered incorrectly. I tried about 10 times receiving a new code each time till I had to turn on my macbook to approve my iPhone with keychain.

Thank you. Did everything everyone suggested. Then I go to the site and keyboard pops up w/no auto fill and I did as you said and clicked on the line at the top of the keyboard and the auto fill came up. After I clicked the auto fill, I logged out of the site and when I opened it again, the username and password auto filled. I wish Safari would leave my GD settings alone!!! I've been looking for a solution for days, and finally had time today to try everything but I don't normally have time for this!!! Which is why I was using the auto passwords in the 1st place!!
Anyway, thanks for your help. **** shame we have to help each other after giving Apple all of our monies........
No, this does not fix the problem. This top part of the keyboard seen on my iPhone 7 Plus does not appear on my iPad when the same website is pulled up. On the iPad there is no "autofill password"... even when I tap the entry blank it doesn't appear
"AutoFill Password" shows up on my iphone 5 but it is blank on the iPad Air. I thought it might be one of the custom keyboards but this problem persists even with apple's keyboard.
I am having the same problem. Autofill in safari on i0S8 works fine on my iPhone 6 but not on my iPad mini retina. All the settings are the same on both devices.
