Calendar is showing GMT after iOS 8 update

I have the same issue. I thought it was an issue with my calendars, but it's not. It's on my iPad and iPhone that way. Even with 8.0.2, it's still showing it. It's shows as the right time graphically, but it shows the wrong time on the event description. It's very confusing.

It appears to be a new (and likewise unwelcome) "feature" related to importing/accepting event invitations from certain external sources. It happens to me on a Google calendar I send Outlook invitations to.

Here's how I fixed mine: I noticed that Time Zone Override was set to on with London set as location (unsure how this happened). Apparently, I set up my Exchange account while this feature was on. I turned the feature off, deleted my Exchange account from the phone, and then re-added the account back to the phone with the Time Zone Override feature off. Everything synced and is back to normal. I would expect the same behavior with Gmail or any other provider. Good luck!

Turning off 'Time Zone Override' has no effect. GMT Time shows only after the iOS8 update, either with subscribed calendars or calendars that sync using iCloud. It's a bug introduced with-in the iOS8 update.

Turn off Time Zone Override and then delete your calendar and re-add it to the phone/iPad. Problem should go away.

While I appreciate the suggestion you've posted in every thread regarding the issue, this fix does not appear to be working for most people. For myself, all events imported form Facebook to my iPhone show the actual even times and then the GMT times right below. Super annoying because it adds calendar blocks for both times. To verify your proposed fix I made sure time zone over ride was turned off, I removed my FB account, rebooted the phone, reconfirmed time zone over ride was disabled and then added my FB account back. Then I synced that FB events - still had both times. I then confirmed the time zone settings on my iPad, added my FB account (which had never been associated with the iPad ever) and synced the FB events. Same result.

It seems to have something to do specifically with iOS8 and the way it import events from subscribed calendars.

8.0.2 seems to have fixed the issue for me. Cheers!

This did not work for me. All of my devices are 8.0.2 and GMT still shows. I tried the suggestion to turn off Time Zone Override, delete calendars and relink them. This did not work either.

AAfter reading this thread I turned off the calendar feature of my account (icloud, in my case) and then chose delete calendar events when asked, and then switched syncing back on. All fixed.

IT seems the solution varies for each person but try dturning the syncing off and on and deleting the calendars local copy and see if that helps? I hope it does.

I've read through a few similar threads and many of the solutions haven't worked for me:

• Removing account and re-adding it
• Anything to do with setting time zone on the phone

I finally found that my Google calendar had created the events as GMT in the browser... I didn't believe that was the case, but sure enough -- it was. The problem, for me, was displaying the 6:45am event with an additional row stating: 11:45am (GMT).

I edited the time zone in my Google calendar appointment via the web page; to Central and it (eventually) synched and fixed it on my iPhone. While I was waiting, I tested creating a new appointment via web browser in Google Cal with the correct time zone.

This doesn't sound like the same exact problem as all users, but it definitely matches *some* of the problems people are describing here.

Correction: 8.0.2 didn't fix it. It apparently only afflicts certain events for me, and I was looking at an unaffected one.

None of the other suggestions worked either. (My Google calendar to which I'm subscribed is already set to the correct time zone.) I now think it's how Outlook at my company is sending invitations when I invite my Google calendar. The invitations appear to be GMT, so although both Google and iOS correctly interpret the times, iOS is displaying the times as the native GMT.

i have the similar issue, deleted exchange acct and readded, still without resolving this GMT issue
