Calendar is showing GMT after iOS 8 update

I have updated to iOS 8 on my iPad 3. After the update, my calendar items in the Notification center as well as the Calendar app are listing appointments as GMT. (Screen shot attached - well, I guess not. Insert button is not working now...)

I have set the General Date/Time to my current time zone (GMT -7) as well as the default time in Mail, Calendars and Contacts numerous tims as well as restarted the iPad.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

this 'toggling all day on/off - work around" seems to be the only solution that really works.

But what's the actual problem?

I'm syncing with google calendar (settings on all devices GMT + 1 (Berlin))

If I create a new event in my google calendar browser, the events on my idevices (iPad Air, iPhoe 5s + 4 s, IOS 8.1.2) are shown correctly.

If I create a new event on one of my idevices after a few seconds (=after sync) the events are shown in GMT.

This bug was definitely introduced with IOS 8 (I didn't see this on 7.1.2) and has not been fixed so far.

I'm not even sure whether apple has agreed so far that there is a serious issue that requires immediate fix!

It's driving me crazy!

This may not work for everyone, but I was very frustrated and this worked for me. Below is from a top level support person at Google. The main point that worked for me was deleting my "accounts" on my iphone where I had set them up as Gmail and re-add them as exchange. example@googleapps.com username and password, server m.google.com

I tried adding an event afterwards and everything worked fine. Hopefully it works for others as this has been a nightmare for me for weeks.

Thanks, justin

There are a couple of known issues based on how the Apps account or the phone are configured.

These are the steps we recommend:

1. check the configuration of your device according to Apple Support articles athttp://support.apple.com/en-ie/HT203483 and http://support.apple.com/en-ie/HT202195.

2. make sure CalDAV/CardDAV is enabled in 'Device Management>Mobile>Device management settings' in order to fully utilize all Google Apps features on iOS devices. You can find more details on how to adjust your settings by visiting https://support.google.com/a/answer/6088059?hl=en

3. Be sure your Google account is added to your iOS device as an Exchange account.

And not as a Google Account.

Once your account is added on iOS device it is really important to access account configuration settings at https://m.google.com/sync/settings/ directly on your device using a Safari browser. These configuration settings are not global and the same process needs to be repeated on each device you wish to use with your Google Apps account.

Hi,

my problem is that all of a suddden the 'toggle to all-day event-workaround' does no longer work for our google calendars.

It seems as if the GMT bug appears as soon as goole gets synchronoused with IOS calendar.

The only calendar I found that works for us is "Sunrise" which seems to synchronous with google directly ignoring the IOS calendar!

Does any body knwo whether apple accepts this problem an an IOS 8 bug????

The whole thing is extremely frustration and I'm puzzling whether I should throw away my iPhone 5 and buy a cheap Android instead to have a device I could work with....
