Calendar is showing GMT after iOS 8 update

I have updated to iOS 8 on my iPad 3. After the update, my calendar items in the Notification center as well as the Calendar app are listing appointments as GMT. (Screen shot attached - well, I guess not. Insert button is not working now...)

I have set the General Date/Time to my current time zone (GMT -7) as well as the default time in Mail, Calendars and Contacts numerous tims as well as restarted the iPad.

Any suggestions?

YES my two calls to Apple Care, both to Tier 2 they admitted it is a problem for many out here. NOT fully admit it is iOS 8. But most here seem to confirm this fact. I suggest all of us go over and track the bigger thread on this..with many recent posts...even a few pretty semi successful results ( gad I sound like an applecare tech...

Here is the more popular thread. bye bye... ==> iOS 8 Calendar on iPhone showing GMT times for new events.

Here is my solution for this problem...
This worked for me and I hope it'll work for you all guys too.

Go to Settings -> General -> Date&Time, Turn off "Set Automatically" and make sure your timezone is correct (and adjust manually if necessary). Check your calendar app and the GMT timezone is gone. At this point I was afraid when I turn the Automatic time setting back on, the GMT timezone would come back, but it didn't!! So go to the Date&Time settings again and turn on "Set Automatically".

Selecting "Calendar" under Default Calendar" works for me, as well - for future entries. It did not change the problem that exists with any events imported from Gmail account calendar. I may be wrong, but I believe my problem is that iOS8 does not "play well" with Gmail calendar (and maybe others). Since it's an issue specific to iOS8 and previous versions continue to sync properly with Gmail, how can it possibly be anything other than an Apple problem even if they don't like Google?

I had the same issue. I found that when I was setting the time for a new event there is a 'time zone' field that I can change. Touch on it, delete GMT, type in the time zone your in. I never had to do that before but it does fix the GMT issue. I didn't have to mess with the TimeZone Override or anything in settings. Although I tried and it didn't help.
