ios 8 battery drain issue and Bluetooth issues

My battery drains very fast (100% to zero in about 4 hours with minimal usage), started happening right after I upgraded to iOS 8. Issue started happening both on my iPhone 5S and on my iPad Air after iOS 8 upgrade.

I am also having bluetooth issues on my iPhone 5S, the bluetooth sync in my car behaves very weirdly after I link it up with my phone. It tries to call one of my contacts and then hangs up. It goes in this loop for ever.

Can someone help ??

I'm noticing in the last two days that my phone seems to be healing itself as far as battery drain goes. At first it was dropping 1% per minute (or more, it seemed). But now the drain has slowed to near iOS 7 levels. I have not changed any major settings (except turning WiFi Networking off....but I did that on day one with no effect) or disabled any major apps. Nor have I drained the phone to empty. Whatever it is, it seems almost like the OS is learning for itself how to manage power. It still ends the day with less than I had in the last version of iOS 7 which was ~ 70% remaining in 7 versus about 60% in iOS 8, but way better than the 21% I had when I first did the update. Fingers crossed this is a trend and my phone tapers out at similar levels to 7.

There's a large number of disparate problems on this thread. I'd advise you all try the usual apple sequence of resetting network settings, hard-reset the iphone / iPad by holding the home and power keys until the device reboots, then trying a complete restore of the device and restoring your backup using iTunes, then finally seeing if the problem occurs without restoring the iTunes backup.

If all this fails, the apple servers are apparently still allowing iDevices (not including iPhone 6, obviously!) to be DOWNgraded to iOS 7.1.2 -

Follow the instructions here:

You'll need to use iTunes for this.

OK...I don't know if this solved it..but I posted earlier after upgrading to iOS8.0 I could have a 100% battery charge and within an hour watch it drain to 10% while doing nothing.

Turned off ALL services as others have. Nothing seemed to do the trick.

Until that 8.0.1 update came out.

Now I have an iPhone5, and jumped on installing it. After the install and reboot now it's back to the usual lackluster battery life.

The only thing I have kept off is the iTunes & App Store Suggested Apps function as well as Location Services. But previously disabling those 2 features didn't solve my battery sieve issues.

cheers

I Found the problem in my case, maybe it will work with yours. In my cass it was the mail app which was causing the cpu to run at very high percentages when idle. I noticed that when I put the phone in airplane mode, the percentage usage of the cpu went back to normal. After further investigation ie deleting all my mail accounts, my phone went back to normal. Then started adding mail accounts one by one and noticed that my yahoo account was causing the problem. I would suggest that you download an app to monitor cpu usage. I use battery memory system status monitor, free from the app store. Then delete your mail accounts a asee what happens

Major battery drain issues on my end as well with my iPhone 5.

Prior to upgrading to iOS 8, I could easily have enough juice for 36h to 48h straight. Without changing any settings, right after upgrading now my battery is at 30% after 4h of use!!! and I didn't change my habits obviously, so something must be terribly wrong. So I started disabling stuff per recommendations over the net (less location services, dim the light, etc, etc.) it must have helped a little I guess but so far I can't finish a day on a single charge. Very frustrating, something low-level in the OS is eating up a lot of energy and Apple didn't profile their stuff properly (I'm a software engineer so I know how that stuff goes).

I also have this problem , right after updating my iPhne 5s to iOS8 my battery life is much shorter , I used to go comfortably through a day , now my battery life barely lasting me till I get home , it got reduced by approximately 25% to 30% , granted it's not as bad as other people but still a big issue for me and it's unacceptable.

Apple should give us an option to downgrade to iOS 7 , i don't want to be forced to jailbreak my phone to bring the functionality back , i would expect way better that that from a company like Apple , do you actually beta test your software ?
