iPhone 6 Plus doesn't switch to landscape mode on the home screen

Yes I know that. I never said I wanted it on the home screen. It isn't working in messages. My iphone is also automatically adding a country code (UK) when I enter a new phone number in messages, on my phone and on my MACPro laptop

Yes you are correct about starting a new thread, however, I do not have a fix for the landscape mode, it always worked before, I have not updated anything lately. The lock is off and and the mode is in standard. When I switch the mode to zoomed and then go back to standard, the "set" field is greyed out. The landscape mode works in y camera and other apps.

No iPhones switch to landscape on the home screen - and I don't believe this has changed with the 6 plus. That's an iPad feature only as far as I've seen.

I got the same issue. It was doing it at the store, it is not doing it anymore in the home page.

Found the solution, you have to go in the display setting, click on view, tap in standard view and click set. This will reset your iPhone. I hope this helps 🙂

My iPhone 6+ doesn't:

 rotate to landscape mode on the home screen

 display dual-paned email

 display the extended keyboard in landscape mode.

Curious if anyone else is experiencing all three symptoms on their 6+ too?

(It ***** because I bought the horsey 6+ for these features.)

I'm suspicious that it was my restore that did it. Did anyone else experiencing the "no rotate" bug restore from an iTunes backup? I did, and I think that it went afoul. I restored from an iTunes backup (via USB), from an iPhone 5s running the iOS 8 GM Seed.

Does this ring a bell?

I'd rather not wipe it and set it up as a new device as this takes HOURS that I don't have right now, but I suspect that the restore (possibly the iOS 8 GM) is the culprit.

SOLVED!

You must be in Standard mode in

Settings > Display & Brightness > Display Zoom > Standard

to get:

 landscape mode on the home screen

 dual-pane email

 extended keyboard in landscape mode (w/cut, copy and paste + keys)

Maybe you have orientation lock on. Swipe up from the middle of the bottom of the screen, see the icon with a circular arrow and padlock? Tap that to toggle between lock and unlock

This was it. I'm guessing apple thought the larger icons looked bad in landscape mode.

I Was having the same issue. I determined that landscape mode does not work in the "zoomed" display mode. To change the display back to standard mode got to Settings > Display > View > Standard.

It happened to me then I found out it only rotates if you are not in zoom mode

I put mine back in standard mode and I'm still not getting home screen rotation, but other screens will.:( I tried restarting my phone again, still nothing. It is an iPhone 6.
