Family sharing valid payment

Hey there,

After I activated the family sharing on both iphones, my wife can see my purchases but sadly she can't download them, when clicking on the cloud button in order to download the music, I have an error message saying `Unable to Download : to download shared content, your Family must have a valid payment method`

That's weird because I can access and buy stuff online without a problem.

Can someone help me out on this please ? That'd be great !

Thanks,

iPhone 5, iOS 8

I had this issue - and played around with settings as described below.

1. on the wife's phone into SETTINGS > ITUNES APP STORE - then clicking on the user id - then selecting View Apple Id

This then transferred to web interface - and I logged in using wife's account - it immediately said the password was not secure and forced me to change it. (It did not do this on the primary account) I entered a new password.

As soon as I re-entered the new password whenever prompted

2. Then went to SETTINGS > ICLOUD > FAMILY - I could see the "family" and at the bottom it showed "shared payment method" listing the credit card on file and who it was provided by (primary account holder) The downloads of shared apps worked after this.

I don't know that changing the password made this happen of if step one was necessary - but this is how I fixed it.

I also got the same message after setting up Family Sharing with my son. I corrected the problem by going into my iTunes account and verifying that the card info was correct. Turns out that the security code was not stored on my iPhone or iPad. I recently updated the credit card info on my Mac, using the full iTunes. Lesson learned, check the basics and ensure that all of the payment info is all there. Once the security info was entered, everything worked fine and he could download movies that I had purchased.
