iPhone 6 plus camera issue

Hi guys, I just got my iPhone 6 plus and I found out that there seems to be an issue with the camera when taking shots at night... If the camera is pointed in the General direction where there are sources of light (street lamps, fluorescent lamps etc)... There seems to be halo or lens flare artefacts in the darker areas of the photo...I have uploaded some pictures below for reference...Have checked very thoroughly for dust/objects on the lens but there were clearly none... Somehow I think its an issue with the lens itself, hardware issue...

Im having this problem but in a more severe way, in my opinion. I haven't taken pictures of sundowns or anything of the sort, not to mention anything in "extreme conditions", yet when taking a picture of a christmas tree, I had 5 green dots in every picture. Have you guys tried taking pictures of your own christmas trees? Any problems?

Here's the picture.

I agree that for the price this is an unacceptable problem, but a lot of people keep saying its not a hardware problem?

I took this photo on the iPhone 6 last night, and the star-like lens flare dots appear to correspond inversely with the lights on the tree. I used the vividHDR app but the dots appeared on the screen before the HDR was applied, so it's definitely a lens issue. A little soft flare might be okay and cute, but these hard points are distracting. The green flare in the tree is presumably from one of the street lamps.

I know I'm a bit late on this thread, but I started experiencing this with the 5. I know this because I traveled to Cape Cod two summers ago and did quite a bit of shooting on the cape's many beaches during sunrises and all my photos had this green dot in them. The issue continued onto the 5S and now I still see it with my 6+. At first it was frustrating, but I've gotten to the point where I still shoot. I have found an easy way to remove them in post-processing so it really is not that big of a deal for me. Would I like to see it improved to where it no longer occurs, sure. But I won't sweat the issue to the point of not continuing to shoot with my iPhone, regardless of what model I get.

I have the same problem with my iPhone 6. At first I thought it was a lens flaw, then I realised it is just the lens flare when taking a photo into bright sunlight etc. I actually quite like a bit of lens flare, you can take some great photos and it can add an extra dynamic to the shot. What I don't like in this case is the small bright dot that is 'floating' somewhere in the photo and doesn't look like lens flare at all! Just a small bright dot that shouldn't be there. I use my phone a lot for taking photos but I do find the small dot annoying when trying to photograph sunsets or a building lit up at night with street-lights.

Obviously it is not a manufacturing 'flaw', so I can't get it replaced, at least I realise what it is now. A shame as the camera is very good in the phone.

I am also having the same issue with my iPhone 6s. It spoiled many of my vacation photos.

I have get it checked at Apple Service Centre as well but no luck.

I bought 2 unlocked iPhone 6s from USA and noticed the issue while in India. The India Apple Service Centres did not even take care to examine the Phone and asked me to send the phone back to USA. I made an arrangement to send the Phone back to USA and checked over there. And USA Apple Service Centre took the phone and examined it for more than 10 days and returned me the phone pretending that they fixed the issue. But when my cousin at USA verified the fact taking picture in the Sunlight, the issue was still there. They did nothing.

And as I can see from other replies that, the issue exists in the 6th Generation (or may be before that) iPhone Camera kits. Though it's known, Apple did not care to fix the same in 6s as well. So it seems Apple is least concerned about this issue. And we may expect the same being populated in iPhone 7 so on.

I am a big fan of Apple products. I own 3 iPhones, 1 Macbook Air and 1 Macbook Pro w/ Retina. And I have really big expectations with the Apple products. When someone buys Apple products they feel to have a premium product and of course expect a premium quality experience and output as well. Now a days mobile photography is as important as telephone for any mobile phone. So having such issues in Apple products is really disappointing.
