iPhone 6 plus camera issue

By the way.. I don't think this is a new issue. The sapphire glass might be the culprit.

The reflections are harder to spot on the iPhone 6 because of the smaller screen & even more so on the 5s.

I noticed this same issue on my iPhone 6 in the photos taken with strong sunlight or strong artificial light illumination appeared a little green dot on the photos , after some testing I noticed that the problem is in the metallic rim around the camera , if I caught the sunlight on a wall the metallic points ( the apple logo and hoop camera )

reflected light in these regions and the green dots appeared such ...

I found this page because I'm having the same problem. New iphone 6+ purchased in September 2014. Any image with a light source in the picture contains one small (but noticeable!) bright green dot. I was taking photos at an outdoor festival and the number of green dots was insane. I had updated from Iphone 4S and had never had such trouble.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem from apple?

You may want to create a separate topic with this, as I think it's a different issue that deserves it's own topic for discussion and analysis. However, at this time, I'd guess it's the optical stabilization. I'll need to try with my phone if I can recreate and will reply to the new topic that you create.

No, though I've seen the same issue on both a 5s and a 6, so I think it could be the way things are with these newer thinner phones.

I am also seeing this greenish dot reflection effect as well as serious lens flare whenever I shoot an image with a point light source somewhere in the photo. I've attached 3 pics with highlights. I never had this on my previous 4S.

I have the same problem. I like to photograph sunsets along the beach and the lens flare ruins the photos. VERY disappointing. Just took the camera in to the Apple Store and they said that it is an accepted issue and there is nothing they can do to fix it. For all the hoopla over this camera, that is an unacceptable answer from Apple!

This is totally unacceptable. One of the reasons I upgraded my 4S was the camera. I like to take lots of pictures of friends and family. My wife, who shoots with a Canon 5D Mark iii, was going to get a 6plus and is now seriously reconsidering. She thinks its ridiculous to sell a phone that does this and I agree. After experimenting a bit, I think it may be a reflection coming from the inside of the camera bezel opposite to the direction of the point light source.

I received my iphone6 about 3 weeks ago and same issue. Green dots on my night pictures especially when it is really cold outside.

Completely agree. My wife is a photographer and was going to buy an iPhone6+ for the camera and has now decided not to.

Has anyone heard anything from Apple yet?

The same problem exists on the 5s, though.
