iPhone 6 plus camera issue

Hi. Was this with or without flash? Have you spoken to Apple?

I'm a tech journalist tracking problems with the iPhone 6/6 Plus and camera and iOS 8.

This was the first one we reported

I Have a couple of videos showing it too. In any kind of low light with a fairly decent light source this happens. Really not happy. But this seems a widespread issue as I could replicate it on my partners 6 plus and my brothers 6.

I've got the same issue with a 6plus. I took a visit to the Apple store and they tested one in store and it was exactly the same, the "Genius" just said "what can I do? I don't make them and theres no point in giving you a new one!"

From what I can tell it's the light bouncing off the lens onto the back of the sapphire glass. they need to either change the cameras or the coating on the back of the sapphire glass. I hope they get this sorted other wise I have a £750 iPhone that's pretty useless at taking pictures when there is a light source in the shot!

Only thing is, it's not new, I've been able to confirm it with the 5s, too. I think I thought it was an issue because I was looking for something wrong 🙂

Sorry, I didn't see your message until now.

So I went to the Apple store and showed them all the pictures I took that night.

No questions asked, they gave me a new iPhone.

PS. for some reason I am unable to see the picture i posted on my original post can you see it? (I am attaching it again below), I sure can send you all the photos, some of them pretty embarrassing.

Does your new iphone still create the reflections?

No the replacement works fine.

The issue with the green llights is really frustrating me. As is the number of people stating this is perfectly acceptable. 😟

I'll perhaps take it in and see what they say. I just have a feeling they are all going to have the same green light issue.

I have the same issue. when photographing my cities skyline at night I noticed odd specs of light that shouldn't be there. They look like displaced copies of the original light source I'm trying to photograph.

It's incredible. Every light generate a specular light. Look at the image.

I have an iPhone 6 Plus & noticed reflections of light when taking photos at night.

Check out the apple logo reflection. My friend has an iPhone 6 & he had the same exact effect.
