iPhone 6 not working with hands-free on a Toyota Prius c

I received the iPhone 6 today and registered the device on my Toyota Prius c's audio system. The iPhone 6 paired with the audio system, but whenever the phone receives a call, the hands-free on-hook switch will not answer the phone nor will the hands-free off-hook switch end the call. The iPhone 5 that I had been using (iOS 6) worked without any problems. I spent about an hour with Toyota's technical staff troubleshooting the issue and they were not able to provide a solution. Tomorrow I will go to the Toyota dealer and see if I can get the phone to work with another Toyota model to determine if it is the Prius c's hardware that is the issue or if there is a more general problem with all Toyota cars using hands-free and the iPhone 6. BTW, I have a Prius c Two, which doesn't have EnTune system. This issue occurs with the basic audio system that comes with the Prius c One and Two models.

I have a 2013 Toyota Rav4 everything was working fine with my iphone 6 and suddenly it stop working for phone calls, the music was fine. Ive tried everything suggested and nothing worked until I tried the Settings "Reset All Settings" the problem is not any bluetooth systems on the car its the iPhone 6 somehow. Apple please fix these problem, luckily i could fix it after trying some advanced things that not a lot of people will know how to try. its a REAL problem.

Same issue here but with iPhone 4, iPhone 5s and Mercedes Benz B Class B180 CDI. I can call using the car controls, but once the call is finished, I can't terminate from the car's dashboard or steering wheel controls. I Have to end the call on the phone by pressing the red hang up button.

ALl this since IOS 8 only. I also have other issues with IOS 8, most annoyingly, I cannot contact my son on FaceTime on the iPad anymore, since IOS 8, but that is for a different thread.

it is just a shame that so many issues have arisen with this new IOS that has been hailed as "the biggest update since sliced bread". Bring back Steve Jobs, Apple, before it is too late, or perform a miracle of at least that magnitude.

You need to reset your phone. Please see my earlier post.

You need to go to Settings>>General>>Reset>> to do a "Reset All Settings"; then remove the bluetooth device from Toyota/Car; and finally Pair it again with your phone. It should work.

Before you reset everything, make sure you write down your favorite settings/preferences, they will be wiped out. You phots, phonebook, etc. are safe.

So had issues with my iPhone 6 linking to 2015 TRD sport with entune..... freezing and not making calls. After lots of tinkering. First make sure hot spot is off or phone won't link up. Then when seeing phone in settings both phone and music should be blue in color. My phone didn't work. Thought was ios8 and needed to wait for software patch from Toyota but after deleting and repairing phone many times I finally got it to link up by hard restarting iPhone while it was paired up (Hold power and home button) and both turned blue and I was able to successfully make a phone call 😉 hope it helps and I hope it fixed the problem for good.

To all having problems placing calls on hands free systems: I have a solution that worked for me and I think will work for you! My problems started actually with iOS 8.0 on an iPhone 5c and the problem has been consistent and easily reproducible. I could pair the phone with my Microsoft SYNC system in my truck. I could even place calls. What I could not do is answer incoming calls. After a long time with Verizon tech support, I was finally transferred to Apple. The rep seemed knowledgeable. The problem, believe it or not, was related to my iCloud account. Here is what solved the problem:

1st she had me sign out of iCloud on both my phone and iPad (ALL devices that is) and verify this by going to iCloud.com on a PC (not your phone or iPad.) Go to the Find My iPhone feature and there should NOT be any devices shown. 2nd, sign back in to iCloud ON THE IPHONE ONLY. Next, DELETE your device from your hands free system and re-pair it. It should work now! If it doesn't, contact Apple to make sure any previous devices are "removed" from your iCloud account. For me, she said it still showed my old iPhone 5c so she "removed" it and apparently this had something to do with the problem. WHY iCloud has anything to do with Bluetooth is BEYOND ME, but it does! Now sign back in to iCloud on your other devices...

Good luck

Ok, I gave it one more try, and surprise, it's working again! I have a Prius C 2 so no entune. I had to initialize all and went back and initized the sound too. While setting up the Bluetooth connection this time, I noticed something that asked if I wanted to call from phone or call from car. I chose from car. So far seems like everything is working. I made a call from the car and was able to use the pick up and hang up buttons on the steering wheel. Hope this is it this time. This shouldn't be so complicated...

Sadly, no joy for me either.

Although I didn't have it long, the iOS8 on my 5S worked fine with my non-factory installed Bluetooth system in my Murano. But as soon as I got the iPhone 6, there was no Bluetooth happiness.

I've tried a number of things, but really... no one should have to jump thru hoops to make this work. As Jobs used to love saying, "It just works"... only now it doesn't.
