iPhone 6 passcode suddenly NOT working

I was using my iPhone 6. I went to use finger print recognition and nothing happened. So I went to enter my passcode and it wouldn't work! I haven't changed it all either. SO this is very odd. The only choice I have is to do a factory restore. I hope this doesn't happen again. Anyone else experiencing this with the new Iphone 6?

Wow this is still happening!

I had it with my dad's iPad, he is 80 and has Alzheimer's so the code was 0000 easy to remember and he has hardly anything on it, he just likes to have it. So I knew the code wasn't wrong. I was going to reset it but thought I'd just keep trying for a while.

Now its happened on my iphone6s ....... sigh .... I've been putting off doing an update on iOS - and kept saying later, I wonder if it's angry at me. I've tried turning it off and on again a few times, I've tried plugging it into iTunes, but it just says it needs the passcode which still doesn't work. So I'm hoping to just leave it a while, and keep trying. It seems that worked for some. I haven't updated for a few weeks so yes it will be annoying to have to restore because of an apple bug.

Wouldn't it be nice if after 3 years we could get some answers?

Well after using the same passcode for years, just added '00' when Apple changed from the 4 digit to 6 digit code. So my iPhone 6s has just decided to do the same thing as many others & will not now recognise my passcode.

My iPhone 6s has always randomly asked for the passcode, even though I use Touch ID.

Interesting, as I have had the latest IOS 10.3.3 outstanding & my 6s has been asking me to do it, but due to time etc I hadn't! Wonder if this has something to do with it!!??

So looks like I will have to delete & re-store via an old back-up!

Not good Apple!!

Nope: Randomly, my iphone 6 was logged out of my apple id. At first my iphone wouldn't recognize my apple id. I went to the apple website and was able to log in without an issue. I verified that my phone was one of the devices listed on the apple account (I verified serial number and everything). I did not change anything, yet, but now when I try to log into my apple account on my phone, it now appears to recognize my apple id but is now requesting my 4 digit passcode. However, when I type in the passcode (that I use multiple times daily) it says that it is a failed attempt. It is NOT the wrong passcode.... when my screen is locked and I need to get into my phone, my 4 digit passcode works. I tried using the other, it says the same thing. Any ideas of how to get past this or what to do? Thanks in advance.

I guess I'm not going to waste anytime here. I've had the same situation, exactly!!! After doing a reset and loosing plenty of data and photos... I'm now being asked to update Apple ID settings. As I do so, it asks me to enter old passcode from previous iPhone. I enter the old passcode which happens to be my new passcode and it replies, both phones cannot have same passcode. Does this mean that we ALL stand correct??!!!

Thanks, f

I too am having this issue. I turned my iphone 6s off during a ceremony and when I turned it back on after the ceremony the passcode was no longer "correct". Obviously, I attempted to reenter the code (as well as others) enough times to get myself locked out. After further experimentation, I found that all calls to the phone were forwarded to voicemail; making this a relatively serious issue. I am disturbed by the lack of support that this question has garnered after being posted for years and being reported by several thousand individuals as an issue. I will undoubtedly be forced into a reset but I wanted to comment on the lack attention this issue has had.

I hit this exact issue today. I was attempting to install the 8.1 update released today (11/27) - it was requesting my "passcode". I entered the passcode several times, but upon the phone becoming locked. I was unable to unlock via touch or the Passcode. The phone is now completely locked (60 minute wait) - and it will not accept any passcode I provide, even though I am 100% sure of the passcode. I will likely have to do a factory reset as well, it'd be great to know what is causing this.
