iPhone 6 screen yellow tint?

Just got my iPhone 6 and the screen seems to be dull with a yellowish tint. It's especially noticeable when the screen is next to my iPhone 5. Anyone else having this issue? I had it on my 4S and Apple swapped my phone twice. I'm hoping not to do that with my iPhone 6 and wondering if anyone knew what the deal was.

I have a yellowish ting to my screen as well and a shadowy area. I started a post myself regarding the shadowing issue and have posted photos here:

I purchased a 5c and the screen is much better than the 6. However, the 5c won't activate. The 5c is replacing a less than two week old 5s that is going into low-signal mode, boosting the signal and burning up the battery....crazy I have three Apple fail phones in a row and all different models.

your not alone 😟 Ive been having same problems. Within last 2 years I replaced 6 macbook pro retina screens, 4 iPads, 4 iPhone 5's, and 2 iphone 6's now. Since Steve left company's quality came down imo and it's so evident. they don't give rats a** to fix these problems because so many average users don't even notice these issues and they get away easily

I attempted two Macbook Pro Retinas when they were first release while working on my master's degree. I returned them for yellow/discolored screens, dead pixel/dust and screen retention issues. Same goes for the iPad air when I attempted Apple products again. They had discolored screens, hot/dead pixels all over (over seven of them... I gave up). I like the Apple ecosystem, lively software and hardware design, but the screens (arguably the most important part) are unfortunately garbage unless you just watch movies on them. It's hard to believe all the rave reviews Apple gets for their products on screen accuracy etc.

I forgot to mention one more thing, which is funny. I purchased a Mac-Mini to compliment my iPhone 6. Well, the wifi keeps dropping out and it takes minutes to reconnect after waking from sleeping... and also... I have an Apple router (purchased about 2-3 years old when I attempted MBPr), which is absurd. There is no reason why the wifi should be dropping out.

I've recently spent over a thousand dollars on Apple products and none of them work. I'm pretty aggravated and don't understand how Apple is one of the top computer companies in the industry.

Hello Lisa,

I did speak with Apple and I was told that I would have to send my phone out before I could receive an replacement. They would not take my credit card and collateral and wait until I receive the replacement to send back the defective phone. I spent over an hour on the phone between waiting and the Apple rep looking into options. I kept telling her I'm in the middle of looking for a job and I need my phone in case I'm called in for an interview. I won't risk not having a phone and most nano-powered SIM phones aren't cheap. I wasn't about to go out and purchase another phone. She tried to empathize with me and I kept say are you sure I can't hold on to this phone until a replacement arrives and she said there are no other options, but I shouldn't be without a phone for long.

Plus, I'm still frustrated that I received so many defective items, the iPhone 6 being the only one that actually functions well outside the dingy looking screen. My wife's iPhone 5s only functions for a few hours before burning out and needing a recharge. Recall that phone is less than two weeks old and the replacement 5c I purchased for her on Monday to try out won't even activate (it's an unlocked 8GB in white). I decided I'm going to purchase a Moto X 2nd Gen for $450 after student discount and get the accidental for $85. If there are any defects or I would like a redisine/replacement there are no shipping/restocking fees; this includes insurance/warranty claims for a phone with the latest hardware and 1080p 5.2" amoled screen. My wife will decide if she wants to attempt another iPhone or not. We'll be making our trek out to the Apple store later this afternoon to return everything.

Anyhow, thank you for your response and the support, much appreciated :-)

Same issue in UK.

My iPhone 6 was replaced 2 times and all of them had same issue.

I also decided to take a closer look to other devices that were available in shop and i notice that all of them had same issue.

In some cases it was more noticeable in some less.

Also notice that some of them had only problem on top right, some both- top right and left.

6 plus seems to have a little better backlight.

But it looks like it is some kind o production problems.

So iPhone 6 is really good. Size is perfect, love better camera with cool video stabilisation.

But unfortunately backlight uniformity problem was distracting me almost each time viewing web pages, making me feel like there would be something dirty on my screen.

Hope Apple will fix it soon.

Fingers crossed.

Hi

In 2013, i ve got an iPhone 5S with yellow tint and 2 others with defective panel -> So i kept my old iphone 5

In 2014, i decide to buy iphone 6.

  • 1st : Good Screen with hot battery
  • 2 : Bad backlight -> Left corner was more lighter
  • 3 : The worst : Yellow tint with black corner
  • 4 : Yellow tint

Every time, Apple give me a refund on each phone (i bought them on Apple Store)

Well Apple do really care about customers- no doubts. They are always my choice over other brands.

Previously I was using 5S and main have perfect backlight- checked many times.

I am using Apple, because I am expecting high quality, no matter for price.

If it would cost £100 more but without uniformity problem I would be happy to pay it.

So now i came back to my old 5S with perfect backlight- sadly.

Because i do really want to have iPhone 6.
