Cant update apps from AppStore with iOS 8

After I upgrade my iPad mini retina (A1490) to iOS 8, I found all my apps cannot update in AppStore.

Neither clicking on the 'update' button for each app nor 'update all' in AppStore will work, and no progress was made, just the round indicator circling forever.

Has any one met this problem and know what is going on?

iOS8 has many bugs and glitches, some of them are fixed with two quick fix updates of iOS 8.01 and the 8.02 by Apple, but still there are many bugs which is are not fixed and one of the most annoying one is “Unable to download new apps or update existing app“
How to fix this problem?

There are two choices; one is to wait for Apple to acknowledge this problem and fix it. Another one is simple and effective – Update or download your Apps with the help of iTunes.

Here is how you can do that: http://www.redsome.com/solution-unable-update-download-apps-ios8/

I hope Apple will fix this problem soon.

Same problem for two weeks now. Updated to 8.0.1 and it didn't work. Updated to 8.0.2 and it still didn't work. I can download updates on my laptop, but the updates don't transfer to the iPad Air when I sync the device. Apps update fine on my iPhone 5, with iOS 8, 8.01., and 8.0.2.

I'm never buying another Apple product. Every iOS update is a bigger hassle than the last.

I had same problem with iOS8.0.2 on iPad 3, i.e. apps would not update, but rather get stuck with a circle indicator with no progress on the download.

After rebooting my iPad, updates worked again as one would expect.

Hold the top right edge button for ~5 seconds; do the "slide to power off"; let it shut down. ~30 seconds later hit the top right button until it boots up again.

Good luck

I too have had the same problem. But I solved it, by accident.

If you have the Wall St. Journal app, that is most likely the culprit. Their updated app is stopping other apps from updating. WSJ has now issued a new update that fixes the problem, but if you still have the one that's trying to update but hasn't, here's what to do:

1. Trash the WSJ app.

2. Restart your iPhone/iPad. I did a hard restart; I don't know if that's necessary or not.

Once I did that, all the other 35 apps that were waiting to update, started to automatically update. You can then add the WSJ app back as supposedly the latest version addresses the problem of stopping other apps from updating.
