Here you go. I rolled my Air, Mini and iPhone 5 back to 7.1.2 and all are back normal.

Follow directions carefully and note that this is only available for a while. Apple will stop signing the file eventually. Hopefully this will get you back to work until ios 8 is fixed.

Helpful guide 🙂

Like most people I am extremely disappointed with ios8. I have an original iPad mini that is now very slow and a 2 month old iPhone 5s that is draining battery from full in 4 hours. I have done all the recommended fixes, set up the phone from scratch etc, not from backup/restore.

I have determined that the setting that makes the difference between acceptable/usual battery life is the GMail integration, if add a Gmail account to sync emails or contacts from that point onward my battery starts to drain a lot more quickly, even if I only set it to fetch every hour. If I disable this feature my battery stays steady again.

I could use the GMail app or MailBox, but they don't integrate as well and this doesn't solve my contacts issue.

I work in the software industry so I have some appreciation of how difficult it is to release software, however what makes me really angry is the arrogance of Apple to disallow people to downgrade. There is no technical reason not to.

Any help/ideas appreciated.

Hey there!

Here are the problems I have with my 5s since the update to iOS8:

1. Notification Center freezes from time to time in the lockscreen

2. Receiving a message, email, whatsapp and so on... is shown as banner while I'm using the iPhone. If you don't reply, the banner should hide after a few seconds. But it doesn't. I have to pull it up. This is very annoying while playing a game or using another app.

3. Some apps are not working. But this is probably not Apple's fault. Not every of my apps has been updated to iOS 8.

4. Battery life isn't as it was. But not as much as many people say.

5. Sometimes it's getting really hot.

6. Switching between different WLAN doesn't work really good. Mostly I have to choose on my own.

7. Playing a game, works. But: if I close the game by using the Home Button, the music of the game is still playing.

8. While making a phone call, the screen freezes sometimes and I can't end the call.

Alright. these are my problems.

Greetings,

MIne is an iPhone 5C and had all of those problems...but I found the solution to the brightness problem:

Go to:

1. Settings

2. General

3.Accesibility

4. Zoom

5. Switch Zoom Off

6. Screen brightness was then restored and no wobble etc.

Oddly, this bug does not manifest itself on the iPhone 5S

Battery life is pants: iOS8 onwards resets a shed load of auto notifications etc, but there is a good post on the Net "Saving iPhone Battery Life" which guides you through all the things to switch off after Apple bo77ocks update takes control of your settings (notably PRIVACY SETTINGS - US Anti-trust issues spring to mind).

MY iPhone got so hot I couldn't freaking well keep it in my pocket!

Thanks Apple Inc: u r freaking shysters.

Your issues 1 and 3 are one in the same. There is some process on your device that is stuck in a loop (or doing something that it should not be doing.) High use of the CPU will heat the device and drain the battery.

Try closing all of your running apps and see if it cools. Then restart each app one at a time and wait and see if you can figure out if one starts killing your device.

I've also seen this happen when I sent (and failed) a huge email with attachment. The Apple mail app tried to send the message over and over and failing constantly it ate my battery. Deleting the message from the outbox fixed that.

Wifes 5s running ios 8 now only getting 3 bars of service at home where same phone with previous versions was full strength all the time. Turn off LTE and the signal goes from 2 to 3 bars to full signal in less than a second.

Daughters NEW Iphone 6 doing the same thing as above. My 5 running ios 6 gets full signal as always. I'll be watching the updates on my wifes 5s and daughters 6 to see if the fix comes for the signal loss. If not I'll either keep my 5 running ios 6 or I'll be forced to switch to Android. The problems folks are reporting in this thread have been going on far too long to be acceptable.
