List of issues: iOS8

3. Excessive heating problem. Becomes very hot with a little use.

4. Display(flickering and color gradient) issue if the brightness is increased to the highest level.

5. Safari crashes frequently.

6. Safari gets the maximum usage of battery though I closed/terminated it from multitasking menu.

Here are the following issues I am facing on my 5S after upgrading to iOS8:

1. Patchy wifi. Keeps getting disconnected every once in a while. Doesn't often connect automatically to 'known' networks.

2. Settings app crashes often.

3. Toggle controls are buggy. Very slow and dont work sometimes.

4. Today I saw the notifications are not actionable, not even from the notification center.

5. Scroll lags.

6. App switching sluggishness

This has probably been the buggiest ios update. I could live with the maps fiasco.Hope to see fixes soon.

Major battery drain issues iOS 8.2. Yesterday my battery drained and phone shutdown in under 9 hours. Bluetooth off. No data surfing. iMessage appears to be an issue. Sent a couple of text messages and messaging shows 54% battery drain. Never had this kind of drain on my 4s with iOS 7.

Today my battery has drained down to 36% in 6 hours. Just sent a few text, no phone calls, no data usage and had no Bluetooth turned on. My battery would last 2 days with iOS 7 and now it will not last a day with iOS 8.2. Battery usage shows 51% messages and 35% lock screen. Something is seriously wrong!

Beginning immediately after upgrading my iPhone 5 from iOS 7.whatever to iOS 8, my battery life went from being 24-36 hours with moderate use to being 5 hours or less with little to NO use. I unplug my phone immediately before going to work my 6 hour shift, and it is dead before I leave. It literally sits in my pocket doing NOTHING - I don't even check the time on it. Bluetooth is off, wifi is off, location services are off, everything I can turn off is OFF.

Upgrading to 8.2 has not helped, either. I pretty much have to keep my phone plugged in at all times for it to be functional at all.

Siri also has longer response times and often stops functioning, and other data is slow or does not work.

Hi, do you still have this problem? I am going crazy with my phone, but I am not sure if the problem came in 8.0 or 8.0.2.

My phone consumed 300 MB last night when I was sleeping and the phone was just charging...

Every day I have different amount of GB or MB left on my phone, but I have not made any changes to it. It suddenly lives its own life both in terms of storage and battery.

So far iOS8 is my worst iOS experience ever.

iPhone 5

after upgrading to ios 8 (and then 8.01 and 8.02) I am experiencing crashes and reboots, three/four times a day. Sometimes using apple apps like photo roll or podcasts, sometimes just while the iPhone is resting alone on the table.

Most importantly, a few times the device turned off and I wasn't able to turn it on without connecting it to the mac via USB. Obviously that can be very annoying if you are out and have no available mac.

Is this just happening to me?

thanks

Mattia

There is clearly a major issue with iOS 8.

My 4s is behaving very badly since I upgraded. The battery life is an issue, it keeps crashing, calls are dropping out and I can't even change the ring tones, which are stuck on default. The kids 5's aren't much better and neither is the iPad. Definitely worse on the 4. Bear in mind each type of device has its own download and I've repeated them, reinstalled, recovered etc with no joy.

I'veworked in IT for decades and have been responsible for complex software that is just a mission critical as ios8 is to apple and if I'd let something like this into the market I'd be unemployed. Maybe it's a design problem but the in depth guidance on how to reduce battery drain is in itself proof something is wrong. You shouldn't have to start reconfiguring your phone to make it fit for purpose. Sure tweaks to maximise things to fit your usage profile are fine, but to make is usable... Nope, not good enough. I'm a big, big Apple fan and have devices coming out of my ears for me and the family, so please don't force me down the Android route. Admit the problems and get a decent fix release out there even if you need 2 or 3 interim patches. I'm disappointed not so much in the issues but the response.

I had planned on buying two new phones and two new iPads when the new ones are released but that is definitely on hold right now.

I have problems since I upgraded to iOS 8 - wish I had never done it now!

Problems:

Apps keep crashing and iPhone returns to home screen.

Settings keeps crashing and doing same as above.

Wi-Fi responding slow after enabling/disabling, sometimes does not even enable or disable.

iPhone generally slower now.

Battery drains at an alarming rate.

Bluetooth issues.
