iPhone 6 Motion Calibration Always Using Location Services

Hi,

I had Withings Health Mate App installed and location services always active...

I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and now all seems to be ok.

Sometimes motion calibration is triggered but for few seconds...

Yup, this was the culprit for me too. I just disabled it's access to Motion and Fitness in privacy settings and voila no more continuous purple arrow 🙂

Just to testify that on iOS 9.2 the issue is still present...

i Don't have a noticeable battery drain, but the arrow is permanently on .... Weird.

Same for me. On iOS 9.2.1 I'm experiencing again this issue... I'll keep MC on for some days to see what happen!

I have exactly the same problem that all describe in iOS 9.3.

Hi! Same for me... previousl I solved with a backup + reset (from iTunes) + backup restoration. I think I'll do it in the next days... But it's impossible that each iOS update I have this issue...

I couldn't find the topic but it may be related - I've recently bought iPhone 5 SE. Clean install, no backups, background app refresh off, everything tuned as it should be but - compass calibration AND MC are constantly on. I've tried everything suggested above and nothing seems to fix the problem. Anyone has a similar experience?

I Have the same problem on my iphone 6s (ios10.0.2)

BEfore 10.0.2 MC and compass calibration works great.

AFter clean update to 10.0.2 my iphone works fine, about 2 weeks MC and compass calibration always on 24/7 :/

ON/off location service toggle solve this problem 20-30 minutes.

By god, I think I might have found the solution - just turn off Siri app suggestions from widgets screen. MC and compass calibration stopped immediately. 😕

I had an iPhone replaced and restored a back up of a friends computer I'd plugged the phone into knowing the phone was about to get repaired. They ended up swopping the phone and I restored the back up and had this problem. Tried everything everyone said to no avail. I got back to my home computer today where I have an older backup (about a month older), to update it from there. I was wondering if I'd never had Motion and distance turned on before more than anything. Anyway, I restored that to a clean phone. Turns out I did have motion and distance turned on but it's not running all the time from this backup. SO FAR. It's been about 4 hours so far, it only took it about 15 mins to fire up again every time I got it to stop.

I'll update if it starts going off again.
