iphone 6 headphone jack Issues

Went into the Apple Store and had it replaced. There was no issue with the replacement and it was quick. Hope this is the last time and I just had some awful luck. I love the phone but I am a little leary with all these returns. Anyway, new one works great. Hope I have better luck when I replace my iPad 2 this winter.

Was your issue that you were getting a bad connection when you plugged the earphones all the way in? Things like crackling and audio dropping out? I ask because I started following this thread when I noticed my earphone jack has just a little more resistance when plugging it in (as compared to my iPhone 5), but other than that I've had no problems with the connection itself.

I'd really like to avoid a trip to the store to replace the unit, since everything else is OK. But I want to be sure this doesn't creep up on me and become a problem later.

(Also, curious -- did they replace your phone with a brand new, in the box phone, or one in a plain brown box?)

I Could not possibly plug in my headphones even more. It was a hardware issue on the phone. It was quite evident by the way it could wiggle in the port. Got a replacement phone in a tiny box both times.

Gotcha. Thanks for the feedback. So it was just the phone unit they gave you, not the whole package in the white box with all the cables, etc.?

I Guess so. Would have rather had a working one right off the bat but Apple was good about replacing quickly and painless. The 2 replacements I got were phone only. No cords just phone.

Of course, it's always best to have something that works right, but when things do go wrong (which fortunately is not that often with Apple), at least Apple has always been terrific about fixing the problem.

iPhone 6 128GB Space Grey, same problem as others have mentioned. I can't get the headphone jack to work. I've tried several pairs of headphones that all work in my iPod, none work in the iPhone. They seem to fit fine in the jack but the best I can get is crackle sound when pulling them out. I assume apple will need to replace my phone with a new one.

I am having the same problem with my IPhone 6 64GB Space Grey as well. I received one of the first batch of Iphones so that may be the issue because the later ones do not have a problem. My sister got one later than me and my headphones work fine in her Iphone6. I am getting a replacement and should be here shortly. Will let everyone know how it turns out.

After playing around with the headphones, jamming them in and out a bunch of times and just wondering what to do I went to Settings>Music>and flipped the switches soundcheck, EQ, Volume limit (another submenu)...and surprisingly my headphones kicked in and music came on. I don't know what preference was messed up, but this resolved my problem.

I'm having the same problem. Two of my headphones which work fine with everything else wouldn't work for my iphone 6. Music from any player kept pausing them playing or siri popped up. Sometimes the track would skip but mainly the other two things. I don't know what to do, for now I have other headphones that seem compatible but I want to use any headphones. Just bought this phone, ridiculous. Main use of the phone is with music and headphones. So far the only real solution appears to be have a Lucky or the right pair of headphones

Exact same problems. All high-end headphones that I've tried cause pausing, skipping and Siri interruptions (iPhone 6, 128,Space Grey). Purchased on line at release. This is ridiculous and needs to be addressed very soon by Apple. They are going to have a lot of angry buyers responding to this post (as well as publicly). There's no question this is a hardware issue at the iPhone jack.

Has anyone got a replacement from apple via online services rather than going to a store? and if so can you tell me what you did? Because I bought my iphone online and I am in need of a replacement.

Hey guys, so since the last time i posted I went to the apple store. My phone was purchssed online from verizon but it didn't matter. Apple genius observed the issue and saw it was in fact a faulty headphone jack and they replaced it on the spot. no questions where i bought or anything. so is DEFINITELY a hardware issue

Same issue as others are facing; except that neither my Apple nor 3P headphones work properly with the iPhone 6. When the device was newer (I've had it almost a month now), I did not have this problem. But it appears to worsen each day.

I'd prefer not getting a replacement phone (since this is my work device and would require an extended process of recertifying). Can anyone verify that it's device-specific, and replacements don't develop similar problems?

Just wanted to give you guys an update. I got my replacement phone 4 days ago and it seems the issue is fixed.

The headphone jack on my first 2 phones were very loose fitting, the headphone plug would easily move around by itself when walking while in my pocket.

The 3rd phone has a much tighter fitting, once it is plugged it doesn't move, even if you want to move it yourself by rotating, you can feel it takes a lot more force to move it. I think this could be part of the issue for some people.

If you can easily rotate your headphone plug and have this issue, I would see if you can get a replacement that has a snug fit. My first 2 phones were built in September and had the loose fitting port, my 3rd phone was built in October and had the tighter fitting port.

I think Apple are on to this from that perspective. If there are other contact issues (like the metal ring issue) then that doesn't seem to be fixed as of yet.

I am hoping this will be my last replacement for this phone! I will keep you updated if anything happens over time.

For reference, a bunch of friends have phones with Serials starting C3 and my first 2 were also C3 but my 3rd phone starts with DN and is a week 39 (October) phone. My others were both week 36 and my friends have week 36 and week 37 phones.

It would be interesting to see what factory and week the iPhones with this issue come from.
