iphone 6 plus rotation problem

I had the same problem. Home screen wouldn't rotate. It did for the first day I had the phone, then it stopped. I read this thread and realized that on the second day I had the phone I changed from "Standard" to "Zoomed" mode, so I just changed it back to "Standard" and that fixed the problem.

Mine did the first couple days even after a couple restarts...not right away but arbitrarily. I haven't restarted it since yesterday morning and the issue hasn't occurred since. Mine has always been set to standard however I may have toggled from standard to zoomed and back after reading this thread. Perhaps that did the trick. I'll post again if it happens again.

I had the same problem after having my new iPhone 6 Plus for 3 days. I reconfigured the compass and it is now working.

Screen will not rotate after iOS8

I am having screen rotation issues with my 6 plus as well. In portrait the icons are upside down, but if I open an app, the app is the right way. In landscape, the icons are the right way but the screen won't rotate on it's own. Locking the screen rotate option seems to be a temporary fix.

Folks I talked to apple support last night as i had this intermittent problem as well. From what i understood, Its too early to tell if its a software problem or hardware problem.

They need more data to help us out. If any of you hit it again, would be helpful to gather exact details on what you were doing, what other apps were running in the background and if possible, capture a video of issue.

I personally would like to work with apple first before running to store and then realize that swapped phone have the same issue. Its under warranty and apple will replace defective devices even if we are past return date. My 0.02 cents.

I bought a a solid case for it as I can really use the extra real estate on plus.

I have a sturdy pelican case on mine and don't pocket carry so I'm not worried about it bending. I haven't had the rotation problem in four days straight.

Same here, too.

I have the same issue... I went to the Apple store the next day and they said to do the factory reset (holding power and home button). This seemed to work, but is only a temporary solution. The phone keeps getting stuck upside down or landscape. Seems to be only when I keep the phone in my pocket for extended periods of time that may mess with the gyroscope.
