iphone 6 plus rotation problem

I am having problems with my new iPhone 6 plus. The phones screen sometimes does not rotate when I rotate in landscape mode, and sometimes it does. It seems like a software bug, and I hope its not a hardware problem. Also sometimes the icons rotate 180 degrees [it flips] and its stuck like that for a while. The odd thing is Safari does not rotate with it. So when I open a webpage the page bottom is near the thumb sensor, but the icons are upside down. Which makes me think it most likely is a software problem, but not sure.

Anyone experiencing this problem, any solutions yet?

In settings > Display & Brightness what is your View set to? Landscape works best in Standard not Zoomed.

Yes i am using Standard view. I called Apple support and they are sending me a box to return the phone for service. They say it might be the gyro sensor. I won't get the box until Tuesday. Meanwhile they told me to do a factory reset and see if it resets the sensor. If not its going back to Apple.

My home page won't rotate. Also, mail doesn't show a preview in landscape; just a list.

OK, I did a factory restore [reset all content and settings] and I'm testing it today and tomorrow. So far i haven't noticed the same problem, but its only been a couple of hours. If you guys [Kalian Heimdall, lwc1986, Phumbaaa, and wagnoids] maybe want to try to do the same.

Do you have iPhone 6 Plus? Home screen rotation ONLY works on Plus models. And for it to work, you need to use Standard size not Zoomed Size icons.

The same thing happened to me. I just restarted my phone (turn off turn back on, not a factory reset) and it seems to have fixed it for now. Hopefully it doesn't keep coming back.

I have the same exact problem with my iPhone 6 Plus 128GB. I tried everything to fix it to no avail. I contacted Apple Support and was told that it was not a software problem. They told me it was a hardware problem and to return my phone back to AT&T😟.
