iPhone 6 not connecting to car Bluetooth

So I got my iPhone 6 yesterday, and while all seems well, I can't get it to connect to my car's Bluetooth system. My older 5S running iOS8 does fine, so I don't think is the OS... And, frankly, this is an after market bluetooth set up in my 2006 Murano, but all other phones can connect, just not the iPhone 6.

There is no manual for the car's system, but I've managed to get it to "search", and while the car does find my phone, there is no way to enter a code on the phone to get it to pair properly. And the phone NEVER sees the BT module in the car to do the pairing.

Again, this is NOT a iOS 8 problem... but one with the new iPhone 6

For everyone having this issue, this worked for me. My phone too was not showing the PIN for my Ford Sync. I got angry and just spoke 4 random numbers into my Sync and my PIN pad suddenly appeared on my phone. I typed in that number and it connected. The SYNC wanted me to tell it what number I wanted to use. Hope this helps someone out there as I see this issue on several vehicles. Try it and it might work for you.

I got the same problem with my new iPhone 6. It worked fine the first few days. Then I have the same problem. I made a call today while leaving work. When I turned on my car, that is when my problem started. With my iPhone 5, after I turned on my car, the call would transfer to my car automatically. It didn't happen with my iPhone 6. My phone 6 Bluetooth connected to my car, but the car display showed the phone sign crossed out. I could not make it work. I hang up my phone. My wife called my back, my car speaker rang, but I couldn't answer it. I tried different option such as reboot my phone, resetting network setting, deleted pairing and paired again. None of them worked. I finally do either Reset all setting or Erase all Content and Setting, It worked well so far. Will give more update tomorrow when going to work.

I have had the same issue with the phone cutting out on a 2014 Lincoln Navigator with latest version of SYNC Touch. I am have a 5, 5s and now a 6 and the 6 is the only phone having issues. Pandora and all other audio works fine for me it is the phone that will not pass through in my truck. It will call or answer then audio cuts out after 3-5 seconds and send it back to phone. the caller remains on the phone just not through Bluetooth. IOS 8 is running on all on all three phones.

I upgraded from the 5 to the 6 and did not set up the phone as a new phone initially. I will also mention I have a Jawbone headset that will dial out but not hang up.

After reading quite a bit today and calling ford several times it was clear ford could not fix this. They told me to call Apple. I took the advice of a previous poster and went to General>Reset>Reset All Settings and then went back and did Reset Network Settings. All of my network and Bluetooth settings were reset and I walked to the truck, reconnected to SYNC with Bluetooth and just made several phone calls and all worked perfect. I power cycled the phone 2 times and also reset the phone name in ITunes and it still seems to be working fine in the truck. And the funny part is my Jawbone now also works perfect.

I've been having bluetooth issues as well. I have an after-market system in my X3 (it's an alpine cde-154bt).

Everything worked flawlessly (music streaming, voice calls, siri, etc) with my iPhone 5S running iOS8. When I received my iPhone 6 plus on Friday, I didn't have any issues pairing it with the vehicle. However, whenever I play music (doesn't matter if it's local on the device, iTunes Radio, iCloud match, or 3rd party apps like Pandora) I very frequently get dropouts. The audio stream gets choppy and keeps cutting out. Bluetooth calling works ... But seems very finicky and occasionally won't work.

I've tried the following things (per various suggestions on this and other forums):

- reset all settings

- reset network settings

- removed old devices associated with my iTunes ID

I have also done an explicit restore (and restore-from-backup) in iTunes. While these things seemed to make things better, eventually (after playing a few songs) the music would drop out again.

I recognize that this could very well be a problem with the bluetooth stack ... Hoping that Apple addresses it sooner rather than later (because everything else on the phone seems to be working great).

The one thing I haven't fully tested is restoring my phone to factory firmware ... I tried that briefly and things did seem better but it was annoying not to have all my settings so I ended up restoring from backup again.

Not to add to the confusion, but waiting for iPhone 6 I have iOS8 on iPhone 5. Phone contacts will not synch with BMW, but when call is placed through the phone, the bluetooth hands-free works normally. Removed the phone and re-installed. Same result. So I would not jump to conclusion that this is the iPhone - for me it is ios8.

I don't actually believe this is a hardware issue. I think bdguy is right, it's something in iOS8 and (for me and others) it's manifesting in the iPhone 6 ... Like I said in my previous post, my 5S was working great.

I read a couple of reviews (eg, Walt Mossberg's review of the iPhone 6) and some other forum posts that suggest that the issue is related to the number of iOS you have registered with your account and that removing unused/old devices from "find my iphone" and your itunes id, followed by a "reset network settings" fixes the issue ... Note, I've tried this but it didn't work for me. That said, if it is at all related to the number of devices associated with your account then it's entirely possible that adding the iPhone 6 to my iOS device family put me over the edge.

Similar situation and very frustrating. I have a 5s IPhone and drive a (2008) Lexus 350. I was able to use SIRI to verbally request a number to called. Now that I have downloaded ios8, the phone is connected to the car, Bluetooth recognizes the phone, I can receive calls and I can DIAL a number or select one from my contacts and it will call out but the SIRI voice command is not paring with my Bluetooth. I went to Lexus today and they said, SIRI does not work on Lexus older than 2013. That is clearly not the case as I was using it for several yrs. on my 2008. the service man deleted my iPhone from the Bluetooth connection in the car and re-connected it (several times) but could not get it to work.

Would love to know if anyone has found any success with a problem like mine?

Seem like this is a big problem Apple will have to sort .... good that you've found Apple are onto it. Here's my contribution to the discussion

My Bluetooth connection in car has jammed completely.

Been to Subaru & they have exhausted any likely solutions (another iphone successfully paired in my car; my iphone jammed when paired in another car; they've done hard resent of unit in my car so all OK there)

LIKELY SOURCE OF PROBLEM: Updated to iOS 8 early Thursday, iphone was fine that day & Friday.

On Sat someone tried to call me in car before phone had paired - screen is now jammed on that person's phone - iOS 8 only thing that's different.
