iPhone 6 not connecting to car Bluetooth

So I got my iPhone 6 yesterday, and while all seems well, I can't get it to connect to my car's Bluetooth system. My older 5S running iOS8 does fine, so I don't think is the OS... And, frankly, this is an after market bluetooth set up in my 2006 Murano, but all other phones can connect, just not the iPhone 6.

There is no manual for the car's system, but I've managed to get it to "search", and while the car does find my phone, there is no way to enter a code on the phone to get it to pair properly. And the phone NEVER sees the BT module in the car to do the pairing.

Again, this is NOT a iOS 8 problem... but one with the new iPhone 6

Mac Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2), Pro-Tools 11 HDX

This thread is going to get bigger and bigger until Apple corrects this bug. I've tried most if not all the so-called fixes here without success. I'm torn between trying one more time or just waiting for Apple to fix it with an update (8.03, 8.04, 8.05 or whatever fixes it).

When I go into Bluetooth on my phone I see a list of my devices that include...

Range Rover (my other vehicle that did pair)

iPad (which I've never used AFAIK with my iPhone)

If I click on the circle button after "Not Connected", I get a greyed out "forget this device". I'm wondering if I move to a location away from either of these 2 devices, I can then FORGET them, then do a "Erase all content and setting" and do a "Reset network settings" and THEN, successfully pair this phone my daily driver ('13 Mini Cooper).

Apparently erasing all content... and resetting network...has no effect on automatically having to re-pairing my Range Rover since it pops up again by itself along with the iPad also pairing again even though I don't remember ever pairing the iPad with my previous iphone 5S or with my new 6.

Blue Tooth Problem connecting with 2014 Cadillac CTS the CUE system. Will not connect with the Bluetooth for phone. Sometimes it is intermittent and will work for a very short period, and sometimes it will not connect at all. On the phone with AppleCare for well over an hour, with no answer in sight To this problem. Never had any problems with other Apple iPhones 5 & 5s in connecting to this car. Very disappointed need Bluetooth in the car and is considering moving to android. Help Apple!

Dear Joe

the way I did it exactly is :

reset network setting on iphone6

Delete iphone from the car in two different menues.

1st menu is the Audio-BT setting

2nd menu is Telephone/ BT remove phones.

than I turned off the car, turned it back on.

paire with the audio blue tooth first, than paired with the (Lexus) telephone menu .

it did ask me 'another bluetooth device is connected, shall i disconnect? ' when trying to pair as a phone.

I Selected yes and it connected to the the phone.

dont give up !

Somewhere this morning I saw a piece about the IP6 having pairing problems (I think mostly with European products like the Audi, Mercedes, BMW, etc.) I have a Mini Cooper (BMW family) and it won't pair after repeated efforts. Surprisingly the phone paired immediately with my Range Rover Evoque. With my previous IP5 S, it worked fine with the Mini.

.

WELL, I finally paired my IP6 with my '13 Mini Cooper. I thought I followed the instructions to the "T" via my Mini Manual. I've been futzing with this problem since I got my phone on the 21st. Today I googled the problem and found the following link that probably pertains to only the Mini and perhaps some other BMW products since the Mini is a mini BMW.

The following is what's in the video on the site above

Bluetooth Pairing

1.

On your Mini, go into Telephone.

2.

Add New Phone. This will put your Mini’s Bluetooth into Pairing mode.

3.

On your phone, be sure Bluetooth is enabled, and find your Mini. It will be listed with the name on your Mini’s screen.

4.

Once your phone connects, it will ask for a pairing code. On your Mini, create a quick four-digit code (e.g., 0000). Then enter that code on your phone.

5.

Once connected/paired, the Mini will ask for what features to use. By default, it will check Audio and Telephone if your phone supports those features.

What was fouling me up was the step where it says to enter a quick 4 digit code in the Mini display. That pops up a screen on the IP6 to enter the same code. I've tested it and at least for making/receiving calls, it works fine. This procedure is different that any I've seen so far. On my other vehicle (a Range Rover), I think it generated the 4 digit code automatically which I then entered into the IP6.

hey guys, I couldnt get my Bose bluetooth headset to work.

I followed the below suggestion/instruction and it works fine now.

So give this a go..

1- Settings/General/Reset/Reset All Settings

2- Phone rebooted. Then removed anything in under bluetooth devices with clicking the "i" and forget device

I started facing this issue only after i updated my iOS to 8.02. Not sure if that has something to do with it.

I Still have the same issue after upgrading to IOS8.02, multiple deletes and reconnections. Only way the car picks up the audio from a call instigated from the handset is if I have the headset cable plugged into the car. However doing that means incoming calls wont get picked up by car. Without the cable a called made from the phone can be manually diverted to cars audio but only once it has been answered, by selecting the car as the audio on the phone screen. It frustrates the heck out of my wife and I havent heard the end of it since doing the upgrade.

I am having similar problems with Bluetooth, my iPhone 6 and my Infinity. While it will download my contacts, it will not connect to the car's audio system. I am unable to "forget this device" in settings. I believe that contributes to the problem. I updated to iOS 8.0.2 and that does not help the situation. I hope Apple is reading these posts.

My Mini Cooper is a 2013 model.

I have also paired today with a new Kia Rio no problems.

The sequence with the Min as i remember after resetting everything as outline before, was to delete the old paired iphone name from the Mini BT settings. Having done this and with the iPhone looking for a pairing, on the Mini a new name came on the screen called iPhone1 (I didn't set this I swear!) and then accepting this and applying a code it just sprang into life. Before a pairing was accepted with the old name but no sound went through the car system.

I also see reports that installing 8.02 does the trick too although for me I never ever want to touch an Apple OS update ever again! I have wasted three days of my life on OS and iPhone problems and that is enough!

The following is what finally worked for me. My '13 Mini manual doesn't mention this method, but it was very simple to use and it paired my Mini in seconds. Perhaps this would also work with other BMW products since the BMW owns them.

OK this worked for 2013 Audi A7 which was having the same issues (connected OK but no calls would go thru the car and calls initiated thru the car would only last for 10 secs or so)

Deleted all BT devices on car

Reset Network settings two times

Hard reset of IPhone 6

Paired the phone with car

And magically everything is working - made a 5 minute call and it was rock solid

My iPhone 6 will not connect correctly to the Bluetooth in my 2011 VW GTI. My iPhone 5 was still working even with the new iOS, but getting mixture of issues with iPhone 6 hardware. I can get past the pairing, and audio seems to work with music, but I cannot make or receive calls. It causes random issues such as showing my phone with zero bars service on my dashboard screen when the phone actually has full reception or dropping a call and locking up the dashboard screen... I then have to manually change the audio output to handset on the phone. I have tried un-pairing and forgetting the car on the phone and deleting the phone from the car, resetting network settings, etc. all with no luck. This puts a major damper on my 2 hour daily commute where I rely on the ability to make and receive phone calls, both personal and work related. If I would have had any indication basic Bluetooth functionality such as taking calls would not work with my car I would have never considered purchasing an iPhone 6. If this issue is not resolved, as implied by the Apple Care specialist I spoke to, I will be abandoning iPhone and Apple after many years of loyal patronage. The Apple Care specialist essentially informed my that my car is older (its a 2011 people!) and the iPhone 6 has newer technology and that not all features will be compatible. I would possible understand this if we were talking about bells and whistles, but this is basic functionliaty that I consider to be a deal breaker with

It is very hard to believe a Company like Apple is struggling to fix amateur issues like bluetooth. My iphone5S was working like charm until I upgraded it to iOS 8.

For me during installation / download, I had problem both in ipad mini, ipad Air, it just froze and I had to restart the system and do a system restore. Not sure how many of you faced this problem.

Next worry is Bluetooth, won't connect with my TOYOTA.

LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST : WE MISS YOU STEVE JOBS, we loved Apple products for its reliability, quality make, innovation but now it has become just like any other brand but the price never changed.

my asian friend came over and fixed the problem in seconds . It's frustrating when you don't know something . Here's what you have to do (that Apple has no knowledge about )

1.click on settings in your vehicle

2 click on to blue tooth (make sure MY car blooth is connected)

3.click on connected devices then click on (audio player)

It should work after that . Mines did.

I am having the same issue with my IPHONE 6 Plus. I have a 2014 Lexus RX350 F SPORT and the Music works fine but not the Phone side. Says no service or when i get a call and i answer it, it drops it immediately. My partner owns a 2014 Lexus CT and their iPhone 6plus works perfect in that car but once We delete his and add mine it does the same thing as the other car. When we add his to my car it works just like its suppose to. I have rest my phone completely, deleted and add my phone off the car and still nothing helps. Being a person thats in my car a lot for work this is a HUGE issue. This all started with the update 8.02.
