Voice Memos Issues After IOS 8 Upgrade
After upgrading to IOS 8 on my iPhone 5s, the majority of my voice memos are missing and the ones that remain no longer have titles or even play back on my phone. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Mine disappeared too. The ones I recorded after the upgrade will not sync with iTunes. The rest of the sync process works, I just can't get the voice memos in my phone to the iTunes playlist. The files are too large to email so I'm stuck.
Help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Not for me.
Yikes.
I didn't get to review the entire thread. Has anyone called Apple on this?
Hi all. I had a real problem with this and couldnt do the 'trimming' technique (why does this stuff just not work via iTunes anyway? Terrible!). My iphone screen was broken so though it powered up and was on, I couldnt use it and do anything like that. Before sending it away to be replaced, I really wanted to get my voice memos off. So out of desperation, I ended up getting hold of one of these apps that allows you to browse the iphone folder structure directly. The one I tried was called iBrowse (iBrowseapp.com). Its free and it worked great. In the root folder of the device (in the iBrowse app) there is a folder called 'Recordings'. In there all the voice memos are stored, and you can just click on the folder to export it all to a folder on your mac. They are not named as they are on the device, but no worries - at least I managed to get them all off. Was getting rather desperate - this defintely works.
Options:
1. Rename (lot of work)
2. Send with iMessage to Mac or mail 'em
3. If file too big for option 2, use https://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/tutorials/export-voice-memos-from-iphone-to -computer
Maybe you'll find lost files as well.
Good luck!
How about this. Not only lost my voice recordings, but overwritten with bits of Taylor Swift!! Amazing. Restored my phone from back up and the correct memos were reinstated. This time I emailed them to myself. Yet on iTunes the voice memos continue to be Taylor Swift.
Just tried iBrowse. Excellent, really recommend
Unfortunately, Kevin, the app you mention is not an iOS app, so it is not a solution to my friend's problem. As I wrote in my opening post, I made this inquiry on behalf of a friend who owns an iPhone but who does not own a computer, nor does this friend have access to a computer. Therefore, the solution I am looking for needs to get large voice memos off her iPhone without use of any computer.
For those of you who do have a computer, you may find that the following program will do an excellent job of allowing you to explore your iOS device or even use it as an external hard drive:

But again, even an excellent program like iExplorer does not help my friend because it requires the use of a computer. So if any of you out there can offer me advice on how to get the voice memos exported to dropbox or otherwise off my friends iPhone WITHOUT USING A COMPUTER, then I look forward to hearing that.
Thank you,
James
I had the same issue. The only way I was able to find the files was on my PC -> Music -> iTunes -> iTunes Media -> Voice Memos.. They are all in there as .m4a files and appear to play. Albiet the labels to each song idea are now deleted... and it just lists some strange number followed by AM or PM.m4a.. Wont be using voice memos anymore for music recordings.. to Unstable.. three years of song concepts scrambled... Oh well at least I still have the audio.
Hi. Could you tell me the $30 app you got? How does it work? Thanks.
