Texting glitch in iOS 8 with 5S in landscape mode. Anyone else?

I've just updated my iPhone 5S to iOS 8. I've noticed that when texting beginning in Portrait mode and then flipping the screen to landscape, the screen quickly blacks out and then comes back. After done composing the text, the send button will not work. At all. Only flipping the screen back to portrait will the "Send" button work. I've send an email to Apple feedback about it and was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this glitch and if anyone has found an easy solution besides a iOS update patch?

in iOS 8.3 i was having a similar texting problem. when switching to landscape mode, it was as if only half the screen actually switched and some of it was still facing the other direction (hard to explain). as a result, some of the buttons, particularly the delete button, would sometimes work and sometimes actually perform a different function all together. however, the Compass app solution fixed the problem! thanks.

I too had the same exact issue, screen would randomly turn black and/or the screen would freeze after switching to landscape mode while in the messaging app. I had the same problem on 2 different phones (5s and 6s plus) over the last year and a half. Turning off the "raise to listen" feature fixed it immediately. I never even use that feature anyway so it doesn't matter to me. I can't believe I've been swearing at my phone for all this time and it was such a simple fix. I "almost" considered going back to an Android phone over it. Now all is well though. Thanks!
