iOS 8 iBooks Highlighting Everything

I'm running iBooks on my iPhone 5S on iOS 8. When I highlight blocks of text, starting at the top of the text and move down, it highlights the block as normal.

But - if I start at the top of the block and highlight to the bottom right or left of the screen - the ENTIRE text of the book before the highlight gets highlighted.

Very frustrating - I have spent a considerable amount of time highlighting my books and my highlights are getting completely ruined by this. I never had this problem in iOS 7 and I always read in portrait orientation.

Same problem here, but not only am I considering abandoning iBooks, I am probably abandoning Apple altogethe. The only reason I switched to Apple products was that my Android phones were super buggy. The experien was so much better with Apple! But now all my Apple devices are super buggy, and everyone is saying Android has come a long way and you just need to choose your Android devices carefull, so I'm pretty sure my next purchase will be an android phone. Actually, I wish someone would just make super high end devices that never need to be replaced, I would pay a lot for something like that. I don't need the latest featured, I just want my stuff to work well. It should be one company designing the OS, the device, and the case. It should be one device that is a phone and is small enough to be a phone, but large enough to be a tablet. The case should make it virtually indestructible, and highly water resistant. The case should also be a battery case so the battery does not die in 2 seconds when you are actually doing something useful with it. None of the software should ever update unless it is a bug/security fix. If you want the new software you need to buy the one new device that it was super well tested on that will receive bug fixes. This seems like common sense to me, but I guess there is no money in it because we would rarely buy new devices. Also I think most people would be to stupid to by it anyways. People like buying new devices and updating software, and trying out the latest thing more than they like having stuff that actually works.

I tried the suggestion listed earlier in this thread.

While viewing a book, Tap the aA in the upper right corner just to the left of the magnifying glass.

Turn on Scrolling View which is the last setting in the window that pops up.

This changes the book so it only scrolls vertically and you can't turn page by page like before.

So far the highlighting bug has disappeared for me.

I don't always like scrolling this way but it beats loosing a lot of work.

Thanks to the users who posted this trick earlier. At least its a work around.

Seven days of my preparation and cover-up highlights are just vanished because of everything highlighted, this is serious problem for me.

And at the end of the day it made stupid for using this product, no matter how premium is the product, I will never ever have trust on this product any more.

Please don’t call this creepy product as premium product anymore which world ever find. This is also some kind of junk I adopted.
