iphone 6 cellular reception

OK so I've used iPhone since an iPhone 3 when apple anted to lock it into O2. I just bought payg and Jailbroke it. Being an avid apple fan I pre ordered and received the IP6 on release day. Have to say there are only so many ways to make a phone but the IP6 is really nice. However, the reception is shocking. The IP6 seems to drop cellular to No Service really easily when the IP5 still sits at 2 bars. Swapped the sim to check and it's the phone.

Let's have some honest answers, if the signal reception is weaker tell us now. I need the reception and a phone is now a phone so i'm getting to a point of practicality not brand. Let's hope the IP6 is as good as the rest.

Having done some googling I found some other who had upgraded their IOS had the problem, but none on the IP6. However, I went into a Vodafone store today for something else and told them about the signal issue. The man said to turn off the 4g roaming signal. Apparently if this is on it constantly searches for 4g and ignores the lesser 2 & 3g. As we don't have 4g let alone 3g that's what I did.

It looks like it may have done the trick. Our kitchen is always hit and miss for reception but the IP6 sat there no service whereas the IP5 had 1-3 bars. Turned off 4g now have vodafone reception all the time on the IP6. Need to check it out elsewhere to be 100%

The only other thing I did was to go into the setting and reset the network settings which I believed helped, before I went to the Vodafone shop.

I thought it may be the new sim card as my other was 2 years old, but I swapped that around with my wife's sim and it made no difference.

I still don't think the signal reception is better but it is working.

It seems to be it will drop on a weak signal and not reconnect.

Same Problem. My phone goes from 2 bars to full LTE to No Service constantly. Cant make calls or do anything unless connected to WiFi. I've made a few phone calls but right now it only works about 15% of the time. Friends iPhone 6 next to me has none of these problems (same service carrier, Verizon). Anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks

I have been having problems with cellular reception too. Been working with ATT on the issue, wonder if it might be a hardware problem. My problems seem to be related to LTE. I could have 2 bars LTE then all of a sudden it goes to no service. This has never happened when I'm on 4G. I have noticed on my old 5 that it also went from LTE to no service....but it doesn't happen NEARLY as much.

my new iphone 6 is doing the same thing! (verizon) signal is constantly going up and down, hardly ever have LTE, and cant make calls due to poor reception. the problem is always fixed once i reboot my phone but it always comes back after some time! made an appointment at the genius bar for this week... also my top right corner of my screen is loose, got it like that straight out of the box! huge disappointment so far!

Couple observations I noted since my post. My issue is mainly by my house. According to ATT there was a network issue which has been resolved. However I still have the issue. 2 bars LTE then no service. Now what I noticed is that my wife's ip5 is somewhat doing the same thing.....going from LTE to no service. Sometimes hers will switch right to 4g sometimes it will stay at no service for a bit before going to 4g. My ip6 for some reason likes to come back to the same crappy LTE....and will more often than the ip5 come back to lte rather than 4g. If either phone is on 4g....they will not lose service. I have reason to believe my problem is not the phone or sim card....but att's network

I am having the same issue, I am on AT&T and every time the signal drops from 3 or 4 bars to no service and jumps between 4g and LTE at the same time my iPad has solid 4 bars on LTE. When this happens my location services (gps) stops working as well, even if I am on WIFI, when I open maps it says cannot determine location. I am assuming its a hardware issue with the gps and it can't find a reliable cell tower. I have an appointment at the apple store as well but wanted to see if you location services were acting up as well.

II've got the same problem. I thought it was just me. I've never had an iphone before ..always Samsung, always on O2 but since I've had the iphone 6 my signal keeps dropping out, especially in my house where I've never had a problem before. I've phoned O2 and no issues apparently. I notice I've got 2 blobs of signal but at the same time texts and calls aren't getting through. I've taken to showing the signal through the number format so I can see exactly what's going on and I can be -90 one second and - 117 the next. The signal seems very volatile with this new phone. I've turned 4G off riiht from the start as I know weve not got that here! There has to be sow thing wrong with the phone...eiither that or it's ability to find the right type of signal and stick to it ie 2G or 3G.
